I have a pair of Boston Acoustics CR7's that have fried crossovers. The circuit board is melted the whole way through on both of them. I have no idea how the previous owner managed to do this.

I would like to replace the entire crossover. It is a two way speaker with a crossover at 2800 Hz. Will any crossover work? Can I just screw a new one in place and reconnect the wires and have it be good as new? I would like to replace this as cheap as possible. any suggestions?

I tested the woofers and tweeters and they work fine.

I'm very surprised the drivers are still functional considering how much damage the crossovers sustained. Your best bet would be to duplicate the original crossovers as the values were optimized for that specific driver pairing. Can you still read the component values on the original capacitors and resistors?
