While not necessarily aimed at our demographic, as most of us here have heard of and listened to LPs, it is interesting to see that some Executives do care about the quality of music that is being presented today, of course while trying to make more money for themselves and their companies. but it is encouraging... though it looks like its through hardware instead of making better quality files.

To me, that is the how they define good sound. Loud bass. If it thumps loud then it must be good sound. When some record executive who does not specialize in rap starts talking about improved sound then it might be something worthwhile.

Yeah Jimmy, you are right. What we get as consumers is NOT representative of what went on in the studio. But if you think I'm gonna buy a set of headphones or a laptop that you and Dre are invested in and it will be "all good" you are sadly mistaken.
Sell me a product the IS representative of what went on in the studio. I'll decide what to listen to it with.

I’m a Dr. Dre fan, his production skill have always better than most Pop Music Producers.
I’m very pleased with my Sennheiser PX200 for the gym, which is about the only time I would use headphones.
I’ve heard folk rave about the Beats Solo headphones but I’m not impressed with their HP Computer collaboration.
For 2,500 dollars, you can get one baddasssss reliable Mac!
Most PC’s suck unless you’re an IT professional IMO.

A PC is as good as the money, time and effort you throw at it. I'm not a PC guy, but I worked in IT while in college. The guys that knew what they were doing had wonderful machines that were reliable. The ones that didn't know what they were doing had pretty machines that were riddled with worms and malware immediately.

As far as the headphones, do some research, read some reviews from people/organizations that really know sound and then make a descision as to what $300+ can get you in headphones. I can promise you "beats" won't be on the list of the Top 10, even if they are great, at that price point, you can do sooo much better... Of course, not having heard them myself, I shouldn't speak my opinion too loudly, but I'm having a hard time believing that "beats" sound better than these: http://www.gradolabs.com/frameset_main.htm

I have no doubt about there are some “wonderful Machines” (PC’s) out there. As a person who is fairly handy I still find more Macs are more stable and intuitive to work with.

I think you misunderstood regarding the Beats headphones.
I would not own these headphone unless they were given to me. Aside from reputation and quality, I would never buy a electronic/mechanical or few other things because it was endorsed by a “celebrity.” Even if Dr. Dre is a perfectionist in the studio and has good ears,… What’s wrong with mine??
Why would I help pay some “celebrity” product endorsement fee?
I’d rather pay a cool dork like Matt Polk that probably compromised his social life for about 20 years trying to build an excellent but affordable speaker. :D

Sorry guy, I didn't make myself clear... I wasn't directing my statement to you, just in general: there are better products for the money. That's all.
And I've been a Mac user for years due to my profession.
