Looking for feedback from people who tried Tube Dampeners.
Are the Silicon O-rings better or worse than purpose built dampeners ?
Let me say that I do not hear anything that would make me think I need them.
Thanks

Worked extremely well for me, especially since I don't have my amp sitting on anything special (that or my stand is just a bit too sensitive). Here's my amp with its tubes+dampers.

Bob Carver said he tried them but found no difference; his best experience was with tubes that had a HEAVY glass base where the filaments go through. He said they were most effective at curing microphonics/resonance. This makes sense from a physics standpoint as it's most likely the mettalic parts vibrating that are the cause rather than the tube shell.'
I'm sure someone will disagree, but I don't really give a sh!t and that's my $.02~

Yes. They're not very expensive so I'm not sure why it matters anyways. I wouldn't care what Bob Carver thinks either.

I bought some and they make a difference-they are not a cureall but for like $20 a set (or less), why not?-Its not like its $500 Magic pebbles or anything.

Spending a little cash will give you a piece of mind if nothing else. Thats what I did. I bought four dampers and moved on.
Don't forget to wear gloves while installing them.
