View Full Version : Need help with Monitor 60's
Hi,
I am new to the forum and needed some help. I just bought a pair of Monitor 60's from Newegg. I am looking to get a center channel now. I am limited on space for the cc. It needs to be around 9 inches deep and as close to 6 inches tall as I can get. Anyway I have narrowed it down to the CS1 or the CS10.
Will the CS10 work with the 60's? (is it matched) Or should I stay with the CS1?

I would stick with the CS1, it is the actual timbre matched center for the Monitor series. The CS10 is the timbre matched center for the TSi series. I wouldn't be too worried about mixing and matching the Monitor series and TSi series, since on paper at least, they are very similar. The CS1 is considerably cheaper than the CS10, since it is an "older" speaker. I'm assuming by your strict size restraints there is no way you can swing the CS2? It would be the center channel I would recommend for your 60's, but if there is no way you can get it to fit, then the CS1 should do fine. The CS2 is 7-3/4" high and 11-1/8" deep, so it is just a bit outside your requirements. If there is any way you can work the CS2, I would strongly recommend you go that route. Something like 50-75% of a movies audio track is formatted to play through the center channel, esp. dialogue, so it is a speaker you don't want to skip on. Good luck and welcome to Club Polk.

Welcome to Club Polk.
The CS1 will work fine with the Monitor 60's and would be my choice under your circumstances.
You may need to bump up the center channel by 3db on your receiver.
Let your ears be the judge when you set it up.

Agreed CS1 is the way to go, and it is cheaper to boot! It will blend well with the 60's.
