Polkie Gathering Sunday Nov 15th at Lasareath's House!
All polkies with 150 posts or more are invited.
Only problem, work has been very slow, only worked 32 hours so far this month so I can't buy $600 worth of food, maybe we can do pot-luck?
Bring some gear, Some SACD's, Some CD's. I have a SurroundBar 360 in the living room and you know what I have in my audio room.
Sal
So far it's me and Jimmydep

Sal,
It's a great thing your doing and you are not going to be responsible for providing the food and beverages, that should be left for guys like me who will attend. We'll discuss further but thats my opinion.

If PF09 was in NJ or NY I'd come because I could drive home, But I really don't have the funds for Airfare & Hotel.

You know, I dig Sal and I KNOW that there is no malice intended...but, **** me. A week after PF wraps? Maybe nobody that is going to Sal's would have come to PF anyway...and maybe PF isn't that big of a deal...but eff me. I also know money is tight, ****, I'm living a split existence carrying two mortgages, but I'm breaking my ass to put this on because I think PF is something special.
Perhaps someone in the NJ area will step up and take it on next year.

Sorry Troy, I didn't mean to do it a week after your gathering. I'm going in for major surgery 4 days after and I have to take it easy for the next month. Can't lift anything more than 15lbs. So I figured it would be cool to get people over before my surgey.
I'm sure nobody is cancelling their flights or driving plans to come to my house. If you are free that weekend you are welcome to come up.

I think that it is awesome that you are taking it on yourself to host PF. I'm quite sure that it is a pain in the ass, and expensive as well. Everyone who has an interest in ever attending a PF owes you a debt of gratitude for hosting this year's event.
I've never been to a PF, and am unable to go this year. So, when I few regional Polkies started talking about getting together for lunch to talk audio, I suggested that it might be fun to spend an afternoon together as a sort of "mini-fest."
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90052
Others seemed to like the idea, and Sal immediately stepped up and offered his place. He's already explained the timing which, while unfortunate, is what it is.
Those of us getting together that cannot also attend PF are jealous of those who are going, and are simply attempting to have a little taste. I'm sorry if you feel put-out by that, you shouldn't. Our little planned afternoon is nothing but a poor reflection of the event you're graciously hosting, and is in no way intended to replace or devalue PF.
Hope you have a great time, and take lots of incriminating photos.

My mother in law may make some Puerto-rican Roast pork (pernil)
I have a Keurig Coffee machine.
I may not be able to eat because i'm at 384.6 and i want to be 370 by the 18th, so I will have to be very strict.

Well Rich does anything look familiar to you in one of the pictures?
We swapped an Adcom 750 pre for a Anthem tube pre.
My impressions were that the Adcom(in active mode) was more transparent and had better separation, but not by much. The Anthem was smoother and more musical in Sal's rig.

I heard...I'm glad I arrived after the debauchery.
Although somebody did leave behind a pair of dirty drawers  Not sure why but they stuffed them in on of the ports of the little subwoofer.

They are not dirty just well worn with a little DNA thrown in for good luck. I just figured my wife would never look in the ports for some incriminating evidence.

Ricardo, maybe you need some new glasses. The post cleary said that there was macro set and I didn't catch it to later on in the night. The camera is a 10megapixel Canon but I do not remember the model number. It is not a cell phone

Obviously my post was not intended to be taken seriously. And I did not see the comment because I need new glasses.

Sal, Thank you for opening your home to us, and for being such a good host.
It was a pleasure meeting Mike, Mike, and Mike, Drew, Harry and Josh....I got a great education and finally know what the "SDA Effect" is, although I think I'll need surgery to re-attach my eyeballs after listening to that Bjorg track.
Mike (Big Dawg) I hope you and your son had a good time at the Metallica concert last night.
Drew (NjPolker) I thought it was very generous of you to leave your Anthem tube pre-amp for Sal to play with during his recovery, and for trying to Jump start the economy One Budweiser at a time.
Mike (Face) your the 1st one I'm calling if I ever decide to upgrade anything electronic.
Harry (polrbehr) I enjoyed listening to music and having a nice conversation with you.
Mike (mmadden28) you certainly have a knack for finding good obscure tunes.
George Grand, even though you weren’t present your presence was felt, these guys have a great respect for you.
This was my first Polk gathering experience and I had a good time with a Great bunch of guys.....I'm glad you all enjoyed the food.
Sal, I hope your operation goes well.

I already had a post written up, but somehow I lost it.
Thanks Sal for having me over. Not very funny turning all the house lights off , taking your house numbers down and not answering the door when I got there.;)
I wish I wasn't so late in getting there and had more time to socialize and fornicate, but at least I got to meet some more Polkies even if it was only for a few minutes.
Jim, loved the Ziti - I love Vodka sauce and just the right amount of spices - muy bien.
I had a good time listening (experiencing) the rig and the ensuing conversations. I'm definitely going to pick up that Marley CD (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007E7H5/ref=oss_T15_product).
One thing I determined is that there is apparently something wrong in my system, either I have my L & R swapped somewhere or something else is wrong because everything on Sal's rig was swapped from what I was used to on my rig. Threw me for a loop there when listening to Beatles Revolver - unexpected...:o:confused:
In case anybody is interested in that one CD I had on - Adele - 19 (http://www.amazon.com/19-Adele/dp/B0018QOIXU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1258404654&sr=8-1).
I'll get the censored pics up as soon as I can (the few that I can post without breaking any internet laws anyway)
Sal, let me know if you need any help putting that closet door back on after the 1.2's blew it off of it's hinges. Man what an impact--so much so I swear I was seeing fireworks when I left ;).

Sal,
Many thanks for hosting - I had a great time meeting you and other Polkies from the area. I'm looking forward to more chances to get together in the future.
Your 1.2s sound even better than they look - I was very impressed. Wish I could have stayed to listen to the Anthem a bit longer, didn't really have time to form a complete opinion, but I really liked your Adcom.
I also think I have a case of Panamax envy.....
Will be thinking about you tomorrow, hope all goes smooth and easy.

I told my wife that I was going to and she said she doesn't care if I do.
Today i was depressed, I ate Taco Bell for Breakfast at 12:20, then i had Diary cream, I had two cookies and two brownies and milk, I drank a bottle of cranberry juice and for dinner I had a piece of grilled chicken breast.
No shakes all day long, tomorrow I will start my shakes again!
And the next time I have to go take a damn urine test i will drink 3 gallons of water!!!!!
Maybe i will have my brother pee in the cup for me!
