theres a ton out there,

Outlaw Audio, Anthem, Onkyo,Adcom, Lexicon, Cary, Krell, Classe, and more. The question is what can you afford. Makes no sense to mention a 3k Anthem Pre if you can't spend the cash my friend. Bang for buck would be Outlaw Audio.

The anthem d2 with arc is a fine one as well as the krell at $18000 but the threads more about whats out there for reading up on . I can afford any of them but would mess with my savings

i should have mentioned . Whats the best HT processors that have HDMI audio?

Does the outlaw?

When you say HDMI do you mean 1.3 to process HD audio? I think those are limited. But since 3k for one is out of my budget, like Sherardp said I don't bother looking at the Krells and Anthems so maybe there are more than I think.

The Onkyo Integra DTC-9.8 has gotten some very nice reviews and is pretty much loaded with features for its fairly accessible price!)

I would wait to see a hands on review but check out the Emotiva UMC-1 (http://emotiva.com/umc1.shtm)

The reason to wait is they had issues with previous HT pre-pro's that left egg on their face. They most likely learned their lesson though. We will see.

My only real issue: No headphone jacK?

Outlaw has a new processor that was first announced last year. It has still not seen the light of day, but it seems to be another 3-4 months away. When it comes out - it is what i am planning to get. (barring a bunch of negative reviews) For now, it is just vaporware though.

It is supposed to support all the new codec's.

Any idea on the price bud?

processors with hdmi 1.1 should be included . Ijust saw a rotel 1069 on the gon for 900 and you could run a hdmi splitter so the rotel only handles audio because it cant do 1080/24 fps . Anyone know if this does good 2 channel?

I don't know if I'd even touch that at this point. It would have to get some stellar reviews.

That is the one I would probably buy if I were in the market for one. The Anthem D2v would be nice but alas, a bit out of reach.

is there a huge difference with the 9.9 as opposed to using a 1.3 receiver as a prepro when it comes to bluray audio?

Who did not see that one coming:rolleyes:...

It is my understanding that Emo has used Sunfire as the donor for it's previous attempts at a pre/pro. I wish them well with it.:)

Emo has been going on about the umc1 for too long and I think they should have kept it hush until they were ready to release it or a couple of months before . Instead they look like idiots or amateurs by all the utter bullshit regarding a release date its so unnecessary the way they have gave false hope to there loyal customers

Regardless I'm still very curious about it and this may just be the dark horse in HT

Problem is they will most likely release it with bugs since it has been stalled and they missed the window. Better hope it has the ability to have F/W downloaded.

For me this comes down to Audessey with height channels vs. Trinnov. Waiting on the Outlaw 997 to see how this pans out.

By the time it comes out the features will be outdated as a matter of fact I think they are already outdated. People have been waiting for this golden cow for a long time and it still hasn't made a debut.

The best dollar for Dollar processor is the Integra DHC 9.9. It simply can't be beat.

The Anthem D2v2 is very good but it cost 7600.00. There are a lot of things you can do with that kind of money.

There are a lot of processors out there right now but I'm sorry to say none of which I would spend my money on except the Integra. NAD's offerings are looking good but I'm still waiting to Install a few more. Forget about B&K , Rotel there preamps leave a lot to be desired. Waste if you ask me. Really no one is doing it right right now. Stick with the Integra , it's the one and only one.

For HT, I've been a fan of Outlaw. Good stuff, good prices...good CS. I wouldn't really worry too much about getting stuck with a lemon.

If comparisons are for brand new... is not the Integra 80.1 (at list of $2,300) now available and should be in the mix? From what I have read, they're ahead on the curve improving on the already impressive 9.9. Anyone have any hands on yet?

I know the OP said no receivers, but I would think a Pioneer Elite SC-09 would be simply kick a$$ standing duty as a Pre. Talk about a gorgeous piece of equipment. One could only wish Pio Elite had such offering.

Integra DHC-9.9. That's mine and it just smokes some serious ass for HT. Not to mention the price for what you get is just steller, just get one and don't look back (you wont have to).
