I received my much anticipated shipment from Newegg today right on time, but all is not well. I've had this happen before with other companys when I got a "good deal" on something. I ordered a psw505, and an energy take 5.0. The psw505 showed up with a broken grill. It's a bulk replacement item, so there isn't much I can do about that one. I'm sure I could just order a new grill from Polk. It can't be that expensive right? Otherwise, the sub appears to work properly I happy to say:)

The bigger problem is that one of the Energy sats has a damaged mid/woofer. It's obviously a manufacturing defect. The cone isn't straight, and you can hear the the voice coil rub if you press on it:( All packaging was perfect. The other speakers in the set seem to be just fine. I hate to ship the whole set back, but I don't think Newegg will be willing to send me just a replacement sat.. To top it off, I looked today and realized the price on the Energys has dropped $30! I'm lucky that way. This just SUCKS!!! I was getting ready to play with the set up for HT this weekend, but I guess not now:(

This is my first purchase from Newegg, so I don't know how good their customer service will me. Have any of you had problems similar to this, or have any of you dealt with Newegg before? Do you guys have any advice? Please help my day get better! LOL! Thanks guys:)

Newegg has been nothing short of fantastic for me. Just ordered a Harmony 659 for the bedroom monday (39 dollar shell shocker) and it already showed up this morning. When the monitor 70's I ordered about 2 months ago dropped in price a few days later they offered me a $10 credit on my next purchase (thus 659 = $30). I'm sure if you use their chat feature and explain what's going on they will at the very least offer you something.

Newegg is VERY customer oriented and they should take care of any issues you have. They will probably refund you the difference in price if you made your purchase recently and probably replace the speaker at no cost to you

I have to agree that Newegg's customer service is top notch. Been dealing with them for the past 8 years and any time I've had any problem they've taken care of me. Let us know how your experience ends up.

New Egg is outstanding and they will take care of you. I know it's a hassle but also be aware that these were probably drop shipped from the manufacturer and New Egg has no way of knowing if there is pre existing damage or defects.

Good luck and I think you'll be happy in the end

I ordered Monitor 70s from NewEgg and they had broken grills. They were bulk replacement items. NewEgg suggested I contact Polk and also provided a credit on my account as a gesture of good customer service. I contacted Polk and was sent replacement grills free of charge. Not sure what you can do about the other speakers though.

I spoke with Newegg yesterday, and they were very nice and prompt. I chose to return the energys for a refund. They have already sent me the UPS shipping label via email. The packaging was perfect and undamaged, which tells me it was a manufacturing defect, which tells me energy's QC sucks! LOL! I don't think these are the "energy of yore". I was not that impressed with the build quality of these speakers, and the "made in china" stickers were all over the place:( The mid in the defective satellite was OBVIOUSLY jacked, but it was packed just a s nicely as one could want...Me thinks it is time to look elsewhere for the sats and center.

On a positive note, I ordered the grill for the psw505 from polk yesterday. It will be here next week:D I am very pleased with the psw505. I had no idea what I was missing:eek I don't think my set up/room combo can handle anything more powerful! I will need to upgrade my house before I upgrade the sub any further, lol! I'm aware that the psw505 isn't the best sub out there, but it is the best one I have owned. I don't think a better sub can be had for that price($249 with free shipping!) though. Once again, the polk side of the set up has not disappointed, and has exceeded my expectations!

Now back to the satellite/center set up...I'm going to try and find a RM set with the aluminum enclosures. I missed a RM20 5 pack on polk's ebay store, because I couldn't get to a computer to make a bid:( I think I would be happy with an RM10 set up to. Anyone know where the best place to get these for the best price would be? The polk ebay store doesn't have them right now, or at least last time I looked. Do you guys have any better suggestions for the sat/center set up? Keep in mind my current satellites are "scoff" sonys with a frankenspeaker for a center:o My budget is <$300. Thanks again for all your help guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep checking the Polk e-bay store, and be patient my freind, speakers tend to come in groups there. In a short time you'll see them listed again.

Glad you like the 505's.

Well, it wasn't quite the RMs that I wanted, but the price was too good to pass up. I won an auction from polk direct on a RM85 pack! So it looks like the surround satellites will be on the way soon:D I will give a full review when I get them paired with the PSW505 some time next week hopefully. The good side is I can purchase the extra sats for 6.1/7.1 later to! Thanks again for all your help! I'm so glad this forum is here, and populated by good folks:) Cheers
