Welcome to Club Polk. Enjoy your stay.
What are you considering for speakers?
Have you listened to a pair of Polk Audio LSi25's?
I enjoy their clarity, detail, and fullness for 2 channel music.

I have not heard the Polks. I'm sure the LSis are great, but right now I'm really into Dynaudio. Also, I'm sticking with standmount speakers. I'm moving up the Dyn line to the Contour S1.4s. My hifi is relagated to a spare bedroom (11x14) because of the wife and small kids. Actually I prefer to have my system separated from the main living space. Anyway, I find bookshelf speakers work better in my small room.
BTW, is there a thread dedicated to posting system pics?

Yes there is but you can post them in this thread as well.

Guilty. Love NAD.
I considered the Focus 220's as an upgrade. There's a dealer on audiogon right now selling of the V1 models at 40% off. But utimately I decided that I wanted to stick with speakers on stands. I just googled pics of your speakers, wow!

Hey Lasareath, do you plug your carver's into your panamax? I've got a panamax also and right now I plug everything into it except my amplifier. I just don't trust it not to strangle the current to my amp, even though it has a special high current bank LOL. It's crazy I know...

Hi jaxwired. Bought all my present equipment from online forums like this and audiogon. I go by the House of Stereo to look at the new LPs they get from time to time and they helped with with a cartridge issue. Very nice people. Started out with a NAD 3020 integrated and a set of Polk Monitor 7Bs many a year past (still have the Polks but not in my system at this time). The NADs are really nice but I have become quite attracted to tube based equipment at this time. My "afterhours medication" can be seen by using the system link in my signature.

Welcome. Dynaudio fan mysef (though I don't own one right now).

Have you heard the 1.4's? I would suggest you get a pair of 1.3 MK II's, or 1.3 SE's....you can find them at decent prices in Audiogon, and all I've heard is that they are significantly better than the 1.4's. I owned a pair of 1.3 Mk II's and they are wonderful speakers.

Jax and Doc

Looks like some of us will be headed to Bunnell Fl, December 4-5, 2009, to a hi-fi shop (Palmetto Audio) doing an audio demo shindig with some nice gear to hear and play with, it would be great for you too join us as well.

Anway welcome and your invited to the Rabbit Hole for some sounds and good times..... 2-channel is my passion but I got an HT room that folks say rocks as well. There are three of us right now in Brunswick and Jax is just a hop away from me.

Thanks! Yeah, I use a'gon and ebay to unload old gear. I'm here because I love to talk audio. Such a great hobby. If only my wife would understand that anybody can have a 401k, but how many people have Eric Clapton in their house playing live just for them!!! :)

Hey reeltrouble, I'm interested in the demo party, but that's a tricky date for me. I might be able to make it, just not sure right now. Why 2 days?

The owner is putting it on at Palmetto Audio, no reason you have to go both days, dec.4-5, looks like DisneyJoe (Steve) myself, maybe George Daniels and a couple of local guys, so whatever day works out for folks. The owner is Steve Davis, fairly well known in audio circles anyway it would be a great way to spend a day.
