You know how sometimes you just take things for granted sometimes ?

Well , I know how important every piece of gear is , including the stand one uses to place his/her gear upon...

Until last night, when I removed the Magnum Dyalab MD102 tuner (for sale by the way !) from my Adona (highly recommended ) Rack, I had my SLP98 pre amp sitting ontop of my Jolida CDP on the top shelf.

No big I thought, no place else to put it , right ?!
Wrong !

once I put the CDP back on it`s own shelf , and put the Pre amp on it`s own shelf, the sound got ....sharper...clearer

Made a hugh difference !

I knew this after learning it many moons ago, but somehow forgot about it, and never gave it a second thought

must be getting old or something !!

Anyway....each piece should have it`s own shelf

Pucks or cones ?
Whaadaya think ?

I think it was a Carver guy, but hell I am getting so old I fogot to wear socks to work today and my feet stink.

No doubt stacking is not optimum but we all gotta do what we gotta do as it beats the sounds of silence by a long way.

Somewhere I read some research that claimed the cones would not transmit vibration as well as a puck shape. I'm also old and can't remember where I read that, or if it was even written by someone who would know. We should have DK do this as his next research project.

I've read in few places that its always good to keep digital gear away from analog gear. This includes IC's that carry digital signals.

I use a combination of carbon fiber cones and Isol-Pads.
