Hi everyone,

I'm new to clubpolk, and really polk products in general. I have a set of monitor 50 fronts and a PSW505 sub. What is the proper way to biamp the fronts to the sub (if that is the correct term)?

Thanks,
Dan

Need a little more info. What are you connecting your speakers and sub to?

Sure sorry, I have a Yamaha-5935 amp (120watts per channel)

That's a receiver... don't bother bi-amping. :)

If I am not mistaken then, that is a receiver (AVR). No need to bi-amp.

Hook the sub up to the "sub" output of your AVR. An RCA cable will work just fine.
Hook the speakers up to the appropriate L/R channel speaker outputs and either of the two sets of binding posts on the 50's.
Set the crossover in your AVR and you are done.

Good luck and welcome to Club Polk!

No problem. :)

Just to give slightly more detail so you don't think it was just a fluff answer:

Basically, that 120wpc is an amount given when only two channels are driven. For the most part, power to all channels is all taken from the same source, so biamping just using a receiver doesn't really give you any more power.

well, no i was thinking about running the bottom channel to the outputs in my psw505 sub, would that give me any extra oomph to the sound?

Nope. The outputs on your sub aren't "powered" outputs, they're just for passing signal.
