View Full Version : Music you just GOT to crank...
It seems imperative that with all music lovers, you will find one song that will incite them to turn their system up until their hair stands up in the air, their ears bleed, and a smile is blown from ear to ear! We all have that one song that we just have to hear loud. Whats yours?
I will get the ball rolling. I can listen to most stuff at low volumes and enjoy it.... out of it all, Pink Floyd's "Money" is the exception.

I'll have to agree with Money and I'll add Pink Floyd Echoes at about half way through the song when the bass guitar kicks in all alone. That gets the hair standing.

Paradise City .. song doesn't even make sense unless your ears hurt.
Send in the Clowns .. the Shirley Bassey version, of course, or Judy Collins in a pinch (although don't play Collins' version over 110 dB). Forget the Striesand shit.
99 Luftballons .. hey, no explanation needed... pure bone-decalcifying rock and roll.
*ANYTHING* off 'John Tesh Live at the Paramus Roadway Inn'. Fuckin' awesome... 1000 watts a side wouldn't be overkill...

Great thread Venom.
Here's a short list of my all time favorites to crank in no particular order; when I need a shot of adrenalin one of these will get me going:
Megadeth "Symphony of Destruction" {I don't know; I saw them live and Mustaine just kicks ass}
GNR "Sweet Child of Mine" {keg parties at LSU; oh man .. so many fly girls in tank tops walking around drunk....need I say more}
RATT "Dance"
U2 "The Unforgetable fire" track 4 {album is probably my favorite of all time; before they got too commercial}
U2 "New Year's Day"
Rush "Red Barchetta"
Zeppelin "In the Light" off Physical Graffiti {the song that motivated me to continue on with college and graduate; used to have it cranked on the walkman walking to my tests / finals to pump me up}
Zeppelin "Good Times Bad Times" and "Your time is going to come" {John Paul Jones on the keyboard on the intro and John Bonham is great on the drums here}

Thanks Ave... Eminence (actually only one "m" I just realized) has an intro that builds nicely too... could make that list as well.
I believe Wangotango was a "song" by the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent... don't know if a group took the name though.
Yanni???? Not laughing... more like a grimmace...

First off, let me say that I think I liked you better when you were away.......... ;)
Track 1 I think is "Deliverance" and has some VERY soothing vocals throughout the song.......LSi owners would find this song VERY pure...
Track 5 is "Tribute" and that song starts off with some of the same vocal smoothness and throughout the song, the string section will both mellow/excite you............

Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. At the first of the song, when they say "turn it up", I do. How can you not follow their instruction?
As far as other songs that I just have to crank up, the list is very, very, very long. It is one of my many bad habits.
