View Full Version : Is 150 watts RMS enough to push a Polk db1040?

I'll be powering the db1040 with 150 RMS at 4 ohms in a sealed enclosure. The sub will be located in a hatchback so I'm not entirely concerned about volume per se, rather I'm curious as to see the quality of the sound with powering a sub 120 watts below it's max. Obviously I don't need to fully power it all the way up to 270 watts, but I'm focused on its effects on sound quality.

Yup thatll work. If you can upgrade to a 300 watt amp later that would be better.
