Sw this on Ebay and wondering if it's worth taking a shot. I have always liked Nakamichi gear and this looks to be in great shape.

Hello nooshinjohn,

I agree, its in great shape and all the components are there. Since the seller is in Japan, the PS is only 100V, but is offering to include a step-up transformer. IC the listing ended yesterday, but he's put these up on a few occasions, but has yet to get a sale. Since only 200 of these were ever produced worldwide, market on these is hard to peg. I saw a complete set sell in UK for over 8K and just the CD Transport sell for just over 2k last year on AudioGon. In my opinion, its probably a fair price, as originally the complete set would have set you back about 15K.

Spec wise, the DAC utilizes the famed Burr-Brown 1704’s, specifically four PCM1704U-J’s. Its still in good company as older as well as many current offerings still utilize those DAC’s, Burmester 001, KRELL KPS 28c, ML No. 39/360S, Naim CD555, Simaudio Moon Evolution Andromeda, Teac Esoteric D-01 to name a few.

If should you decide to pursue its purchase, could you do me a favor and scan a copy of the Owners Manual for me. I've contacted the the seller on numerous occasions offering to reimburse him for his efforts. He always says he will get to it, but nothing yet.

BTW, I too am an avid Nakamichi Fan!
