Hello, I thank you guys for advise youv'e given me on my 2 pairs of ADS 1290/2 & ads 1590/2 speakers. The ads 1290's handle 300 watts of peak power. Need a big amp to run them. I am using a Adcom Gfa-545 amp which is 100 watts a side i. These ads speakers are 8 ohms not 4 ohms. I am looking to bring out the best of these speakers with a larger high current/watt amp. The 100 watt adcom amp doesn't really do the trick. I am looking for a good used amp which offers detail imaging and realizim. Would a newer Adcom Gfa-5800 or a Adcom Gfa-555 mark II amp work. I have $800 to $1000 dollars to work with to buy a used amp. Has any used or heard of parrasound amplifiers ? I would like some more detail and power to make these speakers sound realistic. I want to bring the best out of these speakers with good high current amp. Can you guys help me with a good amp to mate with the ADS 1290/2 and ADS 1590/2 speakers.
Your advise is needed ! Thanks,Jaxs111
Hello,Back in 11/10/2011 i picked up two pairs of ADS speakers, models L1290/2 and the 1590/2 ! I just bought another 2 pairs of ADS speakers. I bought a pair of studio monitors
I was wondering if anyone has any info about these speakers ? I was looking to bi amp 1 or both pairs.
Can i use the adjustable crossover in my powered M&K MK-2000 subwoofer ? What ADS model is better sounding ? The L1290's or the L1590's ? I have listened to the L1290's which sound pretty good running them with a Adcom Gfa-545 100 watt per channel amplifier hooked in with 1 of 2 M&K MK-2000 powered subwoofers i bought back in the late 1980's or very early 1990's. Will a better and bigger amplifier make these ADS 1290's sound better ? Can anyone recommend a good solid state amplifiers to use with the ADS L1290's and the L1590's ADS speakers ?
