Hi Zingo....I am new to the Polk forums and I noticed you have a wealth of info on many polk speakers. Is there any chance you have schematic for the Monitor 40's. I am going to rebuild the crossovers with higher-end parts and a shematic would make things easier. Thanks so much. Bryan

Thanks for the reply. I am definitely interesting in the option of having the fans not run unless needed. Cus it will be used mainly in my house. When ever you get the details I would appreciate it.

I will concentrate on fixing the fan motors first, cuz I assume it the amp has them it is because it needs them and I don't feel comfortable pushing it until I have fixed the fans and am sure I will not burn it up.

I just bought a PM1201. One of the fans is dead and the other is loud as heck. I see you have a solution for load fans (thermal sensor to control the fans). Can I get some information on how to modify the fans control as you did. If you have details on the fans themselves so I can replace them, that would be awesome.

zingo - did you talk with this guy before about Polk's. He's into speakers as a hobby and has alot of them. Right now he has a pair of SDA SRS 2.3 for sale on craigslist: http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/ele/948431288.html. I have asked some of the members about the price and it was ok but not great deal. What do you think?

hey zingo, I see in your recent 'vintage' forum post that you replaced the tweeters in your Monitor 5JR's, you don't happen to have a SL 2500 (black dome with the black foam ring) sitting on a shelf from your upgrade that you would be willing to sell to me. One of my tweeters in my Monitor 5JR is dead and am looking for a replacement, but I am not ready to move up to the RDO's yet (6 tweeters would break the bank right now).
