I saw your post/ suggestion about the 7400 being bi amped; I'm curious if the lsim 705's will be able to handle that much power? Also had a question if I decided to bi amp them could I still use my balanced cables for my rears and C or would I need to buy all new ic cables just bc I'm going to need them for my l/r's. one last question on speaker wires; where does my cheaper cables go: woofer or tweeter if I bi amp them? Or should my wires match in company ?
    Thanks,
    Matt

nooshinjohn, after 30 years of faithful service, I am having the same problem with my DP-52f that you were able to fix: "while I was successful correcting the damping for lowering the tonearm to the platter, and the problem of the tonearm bouncing across the record"

    How did you do this?

    Hi John:
A reader linked me to your brave foray at Audioholics. I give you some serious chops for going into the lions den of DBT rules all. Like you I do recognize that to a point DBT's offer up value, but in no way are such tests the only way to judge equipment. The amount of testing flaws in that website's latest DBT on speakers last fall was amazing.

Of course, the idea that all quality amps sound the same is beyond comprehension to those of us who know how to listen for such differences. Then their is the 800 pound gorilla with DBT's and that is the stress that the listener puts themselves in, by straining rather than relaxing in order to hear the differences.

One thing I want to ask is that if you know whether it is true or not that Bob Carver admitted after the Stereophile challenge that the tweaks he made could only last a short time before the amp would die.

Anyway, many khudos for putting yourself out there.

    Mark

Please don't forget me on the Sunfire. I need to know right away because the guy from audiogon has given me an answer. I have to get to him by tonight. It was good to know that you and your wife are satisfied with the 2.3s. It makes it easier for me knowing that. I do feel better about it all.

Hey John, may I ask your opinion about a Sunfire Theatre Grand Preamp? There is one for sale on Audiogon for 450 bucks with remote and manual, however, the seller has mixed good and bad feedback. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mike.
