Brand new HT noob needing help on subwoofer placement/receiver choice

Hello all :) Read some stuff on this forum before but first time poster. I recently started putting together a HT system for my fiance's condo (which I will be living in one day) and decided to go with polk because I have never really heard bad things about the speakers and newegg was having a pretty badass sale.

I ended up picking up 2x monitor 60 series II for Left/Right channels, 1x CS1 series ii for center, and a pair of monitor 30 series II bookshelves for satellite L and R. I figured to start out this would be more than enough for what I need as it is my first system and due to somewhat limited space I didn't think I would have room for monitor 70's/cs2. I asked on redflagdeals (where i found the deal) about a receiver reccommendation and someone rec. the onkyo 308b to me (http://www.intl.onkyo.com/products/a...308/index.html) so I headed over to visions, haggled them down to 270 and picked it up (reg price 350).

Only thing left was a subwoofer. I was debating between the psw10(good price)/psw110(acceptable price and better specs), had made up my mind on the 110, but then through a forum learned that the psw505 could be bought over the border for about 40$ more shipped (US to canada.. ends up 340$ vs 280 for the psw110) so decided if I had the approval of all you experts I would do that due to reading it can hit much lower than the other two in question and i love my low bass.

only issue is placement. I am somewhat limited to where I can put it to being ONLY beside the couch, everything else is pretty cramped by the tv and opening to the rest of the condo... so I am just wondering if you think it would still sound okay as marked by the red square on the diagram provided or would one of the smaller subs be a better choice? The area of the home theatre is about 10ftx12ft but of course is open to the rest of the condo and the kitchen right beside it.

Only other worry is if you think the receiver I have is adequate. I will not be playing music or movies too loud as to not piss off the people around me so I'm not sure if I need a receiver with more power at the moment, the 308 has 65w per channel and next up the onkyo line is 80w. I'm not sure that 15w difference would be really needed at all as per my situation and the speakers that I currently have.

I would definitely go with the 505 over the 110 more low end with the 505. The 308 should be ok for now but it wouldnt hurt to give the speakers a little more power. If you look for another receiver i would look for something with 100+ wpc and preouts for an amp.

One more question.. been looking online, at visions I could probably haggle them to go down on the DSW500 to the price I can get the psw505 for online.

I read online and people seem to be mixed.. is the DSW500 better at getting lower than the PSW? I don't need it to be really LOUD persay, just because of living in a condo, but I want it to hit low and nice and punchy and clean, and most people have been saying the dsw500 would be better for that.

What would you guys reccommend?

i think the 500 would be a better choice and it has a feature called built-in room optimizer to specify where your placing the sub i think that might help you out since your putting it besides the couch. Here is a link thats tell you a little about it.

What do I need to hook it up? From the sub out line on my receiver to the LFE (I Would want to hook it up to the LFE on the sub, correct?)

Does it include any cables/adaptors/anything else i need

all you should need is a sub cable and connect to lfe on sub and to the sub output on receiver. That should be all you need anything else should come with the sub.
