Newbie - Weird residue on tweeter

Hi,

I just received my RTI A5 and while inspecting the tweeter, I saw white spots on the surrounding and was hoping someone could let me know if this is a problem or not?
Temperaturs have been really low here in Dallas for the past few days and maybe this is what is causing it? Should I try removing it?

Anyone from Polk can let me know if this is an issue and I should return the speaker?
On the photos it looks like the surround material is bubbling but it's not bubbling it's more like a residue that dried out.

I have some 5jrs that have a residue somewhat similar. I just wiped it off with a damp cloth. Could be mildew.

Btw, that's not the tweeter. It's the rubber surround on one of the mid/woofers. It might not be a problem, but it would bother me, too, especially if I purchased them new. Call Polk on Monday. I bet they take care of you.

Clean it with a Q-tip and some windex.

Thank you ben62670, Q-Tip with windex worked perfectly. There is no trace of the residue anymore!
