Great Recordings: Original recordings in DSD directly to CD

So, like the title states,
I have noted that music albums that were originally recorded at a DSD studio directly to a CD. sound absolutely wonderful, so physically present & live.
My 2 examples of this are:

Eric Bibb: Deeper in the Well (great blues music and a great recording)
Yo-Yo Ma: Yo-Yo Ma Solo (great music and a great recording)- the Drunken Fisherman is my favorite song on there

Music recorded originally in DSD to a CD seems so Much better than recordings from the original master tapes then remastered to SACD. Don't you think? I'd like to hear other people's opinions about this. Why isn't more music recorded in this format? The sound quality seems significantly better, not just a little better.

So my other request is, what other recordings do you all listen to that you know have been originally recorded in DSD, that you guys think are Both: Great recordings and Great music?

Definitely look into Telarc's offerings. The label's more recent releases were made with DSD and were available on CD and SACD (until Telarc abandoned the hi-rez format).

Agreed, and the last part was a shame.

any particular favorite recordings in DSD from Telarc?

Handel's "Water Music". I have the Telarc DSD version and DSD SACD version and the deference is noticeable, especially with headphones. Personally, I think either are wonderfully recorded.

Anything by Japanese jazz keyboardist Hiromi.

While I agree that a new direct to DSD when done right, will sound great, my experience is that even old recordings, when remastered using DSD, can sound fantastic on regular CD. Look for such titles from Elvis, Brian Eno, The Rolling Stones, Sam Cooke, classical performances on Sony Masterworks, etc.
