Anybody heard of these? Looking for a steeped attenuator for a preamp I built, doesn't have to be this expensive.

I've seen those too, and gave them consideration as they look fantastic. You would benefit from having a plexiglass front preamp to show it off. :) They're not cheap, but there are also a lot more expensive volume controls.

I'd love to see a cross section/internals view but, they're probably way too expensive to destroy for illustrative purposes !!!
Meh, ended up with one not quite as alluring. Still a stepped attenuator, picked it up from a guy in Hong Kong. Here's a link. It did have some positive mentions on the internet, however, and at $18 it's about a tenth of the one from Parts Connexion!
yeah... but I think for best results one is better off with a transformer/autoformer volume control.

(and, frankly, how it sounds is more important to me than what it looks like - YMMV, of course)/
Form definitely follows function. Both of which, though, are behind price. That autoformer would be out of my price range too, unfortunately.
How sad is one's life if you think an electronics part is sexy? Attachment 76902
Now this, on the other hand, is sexy.....................

Amen brother you said it. Although I would prefer just a tad bit bigger hooters.
I just emailed the seller of the khozmo in Warsaw as he offers a remote controlled version as a passive preamp which looks interesting.
Wow. How much is that puppy?
