NewEgg has this for 190.00 shipped. Have a 12' x 18' x 7.5 room. Would this fit the bill? Expenses are tight after Christmas

I would say yes. From all of the reviews by owners and the pros, it seems to be a very solid sub for the $190 shipped to your door.
Okay then. Just have to schmooz the wife now.
Bought my mom two of those for her home theater. Very good subwoofers for the money asked.
At $190 shipped to your door, that is the best sub for the money by far. I really liked mine, and only got rid of it because I felt I needed up upgrade after picking up an amp and getting more bass definition out of my mains.
Do it!
I'm currently about to perform the sub crawl on my PSW505, which I got a couple of days ago for $150 from Amazon.
I'm upgrading from dual PSW110s.
Good luck!
What'd you decide? I'm absolutely loving my purchase!
I holding fast right now. Trying to find a deal on a Def Tech Pro Sub 1000.
Hey John, how did your dual 110's sound ?
I just received my 505 from New Egg last week. I ordered it on Sunday afternoon and I had it on my porch on Tuesday afternoon. No damage to the box and the grill was intact. I was using a Polk PSW10 since early last year in my great room that is 24x32x16. This is a large room to fill with sound. In my opinion the 10 is a really good low cost entry level sub but I wanted more bass. Don't get me wrong in that the 10 really does a fine job and the base carried through the whole house. I find it to be tight and musical in that I listen to a lot of music. I listen to smooth jazz, easy listening and I really like the big band era however with the big band era you really don't need a sub to enjoy as those recordings were not made with the sound levels of modern recordings. The 10 was just not loud enough in that room unless I turned it up past half way which I think just overdrives the speaker with loss of clarity. I can run just the 505 and it is great. I have not turned up the gain on this sub past half way. I was going to move the 10 to the bedroom but I am leaving them both in the room for now as I really like the sound I have now. My grandson was at the house today after school. We watched Nemo. The movie is in THX sound. Some of the soundtrack in the movie was terrific and really something to listen too. It's all good. I am very pleased with the 505 and it matches the 10 except a few inches larger.
505's are great. I have two in my 17x34x8.5' room. They're not terribly musical but I don't care as the A9's have plenty musical bass on their own. They do however give nice impact and depth to movies. Both are set to half gain, Audessy knocks them down to -10.5. I kick it up to -9.5 when I really want to feel impacts. :D
When I was on the hunt for these they did not go anyplace near $190 shipped, if they did I would probably have 4 of them lol and my full rti system still here. For movies I bet this sub delivers as thats more important than ,musically textured bass with shades of stuff I made up too sound smart lol. If you want a sub thats gona beat the sh*t out of grandma's china tea cups then the 505 kicks ass
