well if you have to leave the wife:evil: seriously if you have to leave something leave the speakers you'll still have a good time.
Nah if I come i'm bringing the ZU's with me. I have a truck I just hate driving it and it gets 13 mpg so I was going to try to stuff them in my car or the wife's, but one way or another they're coming with me.

You guys throw back one or two for me will ya.
One of these years I will make it a priority to make it down there. Who knows, maybe next year...
Have a couple for me too and post some pictures please. Not sure what it is but everytime I plan on going to LSAF someone in my family has issues. This time my mother is in the hospital. So sad I will be missing this but I am sure you would all agree family comes first.
here's some show coverage.
It was great seeing everyone and this year's show was great. Time to head back to KC.
Well, back home and I feel horrible. Three days of alcohol and 4 hours of sleep per night. It was another fun show and there really wasn't a horrible room there that I saw. It seemed like a fairly level playing field and catered more to personal taste rather than anything else. Raven audio was kind enough to let me use their Nighthawk for the show and it really paired nicely with the Usher 6311's. Even more impressive was how well our own member Doug's cables paired with my system. I am absolutely floored at the cost/performance ratio of his cables. He deserves his own thread so I will follow up with a mini review later. Overall, the show provided a lot of 'reasonable' products for the average consumer. Yeah, there were still $30k loudspeakers and $25k tube monoblocks, but they were far outnumbered by the products in the $5k or below category. Raven Audio had an incredible setup this year after winning the best of show last year. Dave told me he spent 11 hours putting the room together, but his efforts really made the room shine. I didn't take any pictures, but I'm sure there are quite a few that will show up in the next week or two.
We had 5 Polkie rooms set up, all on the third floor. Technically it was only four, but the fifth might as well be after the last two shows. Lots of beer, lots of fun, lots of music, and lots of good conversation. It felt like the attendance fell off quite a bit from the previous year. Someone mentioned it was like a 20% drop and I'd believe it. I know of several members who had planned to make it but either didn't make it to the show or didn't stop by the third floor.
I'd be lying if I said I was already looking forward to May 2014, but I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it. This year wore me out.
It was very nice to see everyone again. I had a lot of fun. Was not able to go to all rooms, matter of fact most rooms. The brotherhood alone kept me in one place. The dynaudio's were very nice to experience.
If anyone want to try their system.... Depeche Mode " Delta Machine".
Douglas cables, what is to say about them? I am buying.. No questions.
Really enjoyed hanging out with you guys. There is nothing better than enjoying endless long weekend just listening to music with a group of friends sharing the same interest.
Damn Skippers your system had a real sparkle Sunday morn, if I didn't have a 4 hour drive I would have plopped my butt right back on the couch...and yes Doug's cables were a definite upgrade (great sounding cables).
Thanks Danny for the comparison of listening to your Shiit:cheesygrin:. Danny had a great side by side of head phone rigs.
Halen great to see you as always and thanks for dinner and beer. Halen is correct if even not your genre the new Depeche Mode " Delta Machine", is a really good reference disk of bass with a vocal mix.
Marvin its always great hanging with you...to fricking funny.
Russman always a blast of knowledge and friendship.
ThSmith glad you got to the show and back to Texas, good seeing you hope you had a safe trip home.
I can't emphasize more for those who just want to hang out get to the show and grab a room, and bring your CD's/or gear it is really laid back musical atmosphere...way to much fun.
Well put guys ! My sons really enjoyed LSAF and made for a great bonding experience that I could not have bought for no amout of money.
Ron, my oldest son is still talking about your setup.

I would also like to thank Marvin for providing the Beano's for Skip:razz:
i should have brought one for russ.
Sounds like you guys had a blast up there, that's it, I need to go to next year's show! I know some of the guys from HAS( Houston Audio Society) probably went up for it. I could have sworn I saw some of Fred Thompson's speakers in one of the pics, and Dennis Deacon of D-Sonics Amplifiers usually has some amps to run there. Halen, I'm with you, I'm buying some of Doug's cables!!!
Yes alot of HAS members were there...Audio fred always has a room, and is a big part of the show.
The earliest I went to bed was 1am started with Skip Thursday till 2:30am listening to music and we woke up with hangovers all 3 mornings.
