Hooking up two Polk PSW200's

I searched but cannot seem to find anything that is specific to my issue.

I have two Polk PSW200's, and I would like to run them both at the same time.
I have a Y cable from the sub out on my Denon avr1312, which I have been running one psw200 with.
But I just got another one psw200 today and want to run them both.
So I tried to just go from line out on the first sub, to line in on the second. But no sound from the second sub.

So I got two more Y cables.
There is one Y cable from the "sub out" on the amp, with two more Y cables plugged
into that, with RCAs running to both subs from those.

Now I have sound on both subs.

But, when I set the level on one sub, and go to turn the other one to match, it is not as loud.
AND the first sub decreases in volume.

Any help guys? Thanks in advance

Hello ma61,
It is possible the problem is being caused by cancellations between the two subs. Try adjusting the "variable phase control" of one of the subs and see if this changes the perceived output level. How are you determining the levels? SPL meter? Or, just by listening?

I am just judging this by ear.
The phase would need to be the same on each sub correct?

hook one up through the speaker level inputs

It might be helpful if you disconnected all of the speakers and leave the subs operating. Then begin to adjust the variable phase controls on one unit and listen to how the bass changes. Differences in room placement and distances to your listening position can effect how the bass waves interact.

I will have to try that once I get home from work.

connect your front speaker ou from the AVR into the speaker level in on the sub, then connect the speakers to the speaker level out from the sub, that way youre not splitting the signal from the AVR

Use the Y Splitter from the receiver and run each separate cable into the "Left/Mono" inputs on your subs. You shouldn't have to use the output jacks on the subs to connect both of them.
