HDMI transient tolerence
Ok today has not been a good day, first my furnace went out , next my vacuum desoldering station fell on the floor and broke parts but the kicker is i was unplugging a lead acid battery charger and the plug slipped and the hot line came in quick contact with the line conditioner case, just a quick spark, nothing tripped but it blew out the hdmi output on my satellite box that's not even on the same branch. As a service tech i have never seen an interconnect so dang intolerant as hdmi. Basicly what i am wondering now is if they make a buffer or a transient suppressor that's worth a dang. I know on some devices they use a filter that might have a diode in it but i am not shure

Although i cant help with your tech questions, i do have some advice.
Club polk is an awesome resource, both for help and human interaction.
but i gotta admit, theres a transient curse inhabiting this haunted house.
Just look up some of pfbs woes, along with some others, im sure you will stay because the good far outweighs the bad, but be warned.

Panamax M5400pm , voltage correction. HDMI is terrible at taking any kind of hit or brown out.

To think, i used to just complain that the jack was easy to bust and a pain in the tail to replace
