My A9s seem considerably less sensitive than their SPL rating would suggest. I also have a pair of A7 and each pair are driven by seperate dedicated amps. At 1 watt output registered on each amp, the A7 seem considerably louder at 3' than the A9 even though the two models claim to have near identical SPL specs. Anyone have any insights as to why this might be?
Are you using a SPL meter?. I have only the a9's and they need a lot of juice to wake...like me in the morning.:eek:
Your driving 3 woofers and 2 mids on the A9's. That's why those A9's have a max power rating twice the amount of the A7's. Forget that low end number, that is where you will just start hearing some kind of recognizable sound being produced.
