Batten down the hatches

The storm that just moved down the left coast is hitting us Zoni's right now. They're saying it might snow as low as I am here in Tucson. If it does it'll be the third time I've seen snow this year. In the past 12 yrs here in Tucson, I've seen it snow at my house once. I'm here now cause it's thundering outside...In the winter. That doesn't happen very often.

All I know is it's supposed to be in the mid 80's by mid week. I went mountain biking yesterday, my road old bike restoration is done now, and my bicycles are telling me they want to go out and play and they don't know why they can't. :confused:

Can't wait for it to warm up a little for the road bike but it needs to dry out quite a bit before the mountain bike goes out. For now the road bike is on the trainer.

I was in Tucson and Pinos Altos, N.M. in January,2007 for my sister's funeral and it snowed like a bastard in Tucson ! Nothing like seeing palm trees bent way over with snow. :eek:

The MA coast got hammered by a classic Nor'easter yesterday through midafternoon today.

I'm afraid you won't get a whole lot of sympathy from those of us who live in the great northeast. I just cleared about 10" of the white stuff from my driveway this afternoon. I think it's the fifth or sixth time this year, and this one was relatively easy! :smile:

You know what, I completely understand. I lived 3/4 of my life in Seattle and I get winter weather ( I ski instructed for 8 yrs ). But....When it hits 110+ there next summer (and I work outside), remember this post.:razz:

I'm enjoying a frosty beverage in the sun in the Seattle area. Mid 50's but feels warmer in the sun :cheesygrin:

I was on the pike this morning at 5am....some of the worst driving conditions i've seen in a while.

I work outside all day and a couple weeks ago, we had temps in Cambridge that hit close to -20 with the wind chill.

With the temps they're calling for tomorrow it'll be just like being back home. Time to get the waders and steelhead rod out again.:razz:

Used to live in Syracuse, NY. Well known for its snow accumulation. Yet, they are better at removing it from the roads than they are around here. Part of the problem I hear is that MA has too small of a budget for clearing the roads. Whatever the reason, it was terrible going to work this morning even though it had snowed only about 4-5 inches. Roads were crap.

Drivers are worse. Lost about 10 minutes in about 1/2 mile of a back country road because someone had bald tires and couldn't make it up the hilly road. Sliding all over the road. Small up-hill was no problem for everyone else.
