How to restore the faceplate metal. Ideas?
PM sent!
I might have a set...
Are you stalking me?
You're making it too easy....
What happened to those speakers?, It looks like they were under the down spout of your gutter for years.
Actually left speaker plate looks ok, some tweeter domes have some bubbles from the heat, all the cones appear fine, 4 mid dust covers are cracked/pieces missing, grill cloths have melt spots, quite a project.
They actually sound ok in there current condition.
Tweeters on order, grill covers on order. The dust covers are another issue that I'll be asking advise on as I have no reply's on any 6503 replacement speakers in the "wanted to buy" forum that might be for sale, I need to find 4 of them.
THANK YOU for looking, I called parts-express already, they did not have the right sized dust covers, they only have larger ones. Can larger dust covers be "trimmed" down to fit? Would you know the actual size the original dust covers are? And what type of glue would you advise be used to attach some new covers with?
I gotta go work for a while, gotta feed this new addiction!!!!
I would just trim them.. Get a couple and try it out, at least they don't cost to much and if your successful you just saved yourself a lot of $$$
