Dynaudio special 25s
Dynaudio special 25s
I have been "into" Hi-Fi for the last 50 years.
And even after helping a friend display his tube amps at CES for years, and listening to nearly everything ever made I am still in love with the "POLK" sound.
I have a pair of 3.2tl's and a pair of non tl 2.3's Plus I bought a set of SRT's that I have always wanted. I spotted the set that Doug put up for sale and grabbed them. Naturally I will start with any modding with the 3.2's
I will probably put the non tl's up for sale eventually. My next big audio step will be more and better electronics and either building a new house strictly for the perfect listening room or adding onto mine.
But unless God starts making speakers I will be sticking with Matthew's.
I'd like to "nudge" up 1 more time to the Harbeth SHL-5. probably will in a few years, but right now I'm loving my music so I'm in no hurry.
Living Voice Vox Olympians.
Of course, this would be strictly an artistic purchase...
1 set of Tony's boards = $100 (can't remember exact price, but that's the ballpark)
1 set of Larry's rings = $100
SonicCap Gen I's = $260
Throw in some inductors, maybe some nice Dueland resistors, Cardas binding posts, some Dynamat and Sonic Barrier, parts you're going to use to mount the crossover boards, maybe some new wood, grill cloth, spikes, etc. You can get to $1000 with no problem. And that's before you build a Dreadnaught. And then people are starting to upgrade the internal wiring. Cha-ching........
If I was in the same space I'm in now they would be Vandersteen 3a sigs. Now if I was in a house w/ a media/great room maybe
B&W 802Diamonds, Klipschorns and your biggies SDA-SRS.
ZLTFUL how much are those incredibly beautiful speakers the wood work is exquisite. the base though needs some help on the last model.Amazing work.
Yeah...the Living Voice Auditoriums and OBX speakers are more attainable by mortals. I know of a pair of Auditoriums in Burr Oak the owner is asking $2000 for the pair (~$5500 new).
I'm dying to hear these...http://www.salksound.com/soundscape%208%20home.htm
Salk makes a nice sounding speaker...and those are excellent drivers.
I need more money...
