Sweet!!! Love the silver.
I thought Halo is their signature series .... curious to know how they can justify the price difference between this and the JC2 justified?
Looks darn nice, hoping it sounds as good as it looks. Shake a leg bro, inquiring minds are waiting for a mini review to wet our whistles.
It will be awhile before I am even able to purchase one anyhow. I'm sure that there will be someone else here who will get one before I am able to, and I am looking forward to reading their thoughts on it. It definitely looks very promising, and given Parasound's reputation, I'd be surprised if it didn't sound very good...
Whoa, on-board hi-def DAC with USB input?
I love my Adcom GFP-750, and prefer passive, but this pre-amp does make me feel sort of...old.
Just got off the phone with AA. Price is going up Nov 1 to $1099. Still not available yet but they will take preorders for the $950 price.
Oh well, when I first saw the msrp was going to be $950, my first thought was that it had to be a mistake. I was expecting it to be closer to $2000, given all the features, and the fact that it was from the Halo line...
Thanks for the info chumlie!!
I bet they realized that at the original price they would be confused as Emo class gear.
Just spoke to Parasound. Price went up due to upgrades at final QC. Should be out by end of November. May want to preorder from AA now. Couldn't get an updated price from them. Wouldn't confirm AA $1100. Said it could be more.
isn't the Burr-Brown PCM1798 DAC is the same one in the MF -V DAC II ?
I know that PS Audio used that chip in at least their NuWave and Digital Link series.
Great looking piece although I prefer the look of the P7..
It does seem like a lot to offer for under $1K the Phono input is limited to 100ohm and 47ohm so you choice of carts are limited no tweaking for you..
I can't believe Parasound does not sell to CANADA WTF is that all about are we to cold or our Igloo's don't have enough Hydro or what?
Reading through the web site, it does not mention DSD. Since its new you think they would add that in there.
Here are the internals on the JC2 for reference:
All that fancy tech and still a $20 volume pot.
Probably a bit more than that since it's a 4 ganged motorized version. It can be a challenge to get a two section version to have reasonably close tracking so it must take some sorting to get a 4 section to match close, assuming they test them.
I agree with others that it is too feature rich for the price. Compromises. That and the tube thing.
All attenuators should be Primum non nocere certified...
I ordered mine in July! I received the A21 amp that I ordered at the same time, a couple of weeks later. Since then I've been using a new OPPO 105 connected directly to the A21 using the balanced connectors and KimberKable Hero cable. This has been a wonderful experience making me wonder if I need the P5 after all!
I like this look for recently released pictures.
