I made this enclosure to house my Avel Isolation Transformer. It is to tidy up the look of a raw transformer just sitting on the carpet. I now have it inside my entertainment center. I just need a polk audio emblem for the front and to fabricate the top the next time I have my table saw out.

That's nice Scott. How about a smoked plexi top?
I planned on doing a black oak top of course. Not that much to see inside except a big ass toroidal and a couple of leads.
Question. I hooked it up using both the primary and the secondary winding this time istead of just the primary. The wire sizes are different between the primary and the secondary.
Do you think that would/could /should make a difference?

Well the primary would be the input and the secondary would be the output so can't see how it would work otherwise.It looks like your tranny has dual secondary outputs so you would run them in parrallel.Quote:

Doh,:oI must apologize for my ignorance with my previous reply in this thread.I thought originally that Scott meant this Isolation transformer was for 120 volt AC usage thus my comment about the binding posts.I now see it is part of the specialised setup to use SDA's with non common ground amps.I was not previously aware of the need for the transformer.
Scott, this is to make the cable that would allow you to use monoblocks, right? My NAD 2200 is bridgeable, so I'm definitely interested in how it works!
Even with the A1 I don't think it would be worth it to bridge. Which SDA's do you have?Quote:

I actually milled the top for it on Sunday and painted it. To be honest I have not even seen what it looks like with it installed because of where I have the enclosure sitting right now.
