Just announced in Japan. While SACD and Blu-ray are the featured formats, it does play DVD-A as well. However, I think this player will retail for $4,000+

Looks like a cool machine, but I agree that the non matching screws are tacky. I wonder if it comes with the velvet mat? :D

Super nice player. This is one issue with player of this class: it becomes obsolete in 2 years, 3 years max, unlike a SACD/Redbook player 2/MC channels that seem to hold its value a few years better.

I guess it's personal preference, but I still prefer the old style thick aluminum face, with no plastic except the window. Plastic faces just don't seem right on expensive gear.Quote:

How can a download possibly look and sound as good as Blu Ray without being a tremendously large file and requiring the end user to have a NAS loaded up with 1TB plus drives to maintain it all?
