Despite what some of the members here will tell you, there is nothing wrong with using Emotiva amps for music. I run my Paradigm S8s with the XPA-1's and they sound excellent. I wouldn't be afraid...

Forget new wire or amps for now. Look into proper room treatments and speaker positioning. It will get you more for your money.

JRiver Media Center is excellent. Well worth the $50 price tag. There is a free 30 day trial. I could never go back to Mediamonkey after JRiver.
