We need a RAS meet for sure and new faces are always welcome.
Believe it or not Tony I do dust my cables and I use compressed air for those hard to reach areas. Nothing worse than spending a lot of money on your cables only to let them get all covered in dust....
Same with Pass Labs or you can talk with Nelson over at DIY audio too.

The thing you have to understand is speaker x-over components are passive, amplifiers and their components are used in an active circuit. The rules completely change in an active vs. passive...
Part of the issue is the actual amp topology. No amount of boutique parts can make up for shortcomings and short cuts in topology. You could certainly replace key caps, resistors or even...
......
To the OP, whatever direction you go just make sure you are well informed and keep an open mind.
I am out of this one at this point in time.

I have bought nothing but used over the past 10-12 years and with the exception of a couple shipping incidents..............I have zero issues. That's a lot of used gear and not a single issue. I...
Ben, prayers to you, your family and your girls. Try to stay positive and hang in there, miracles happen all the time.

How do you know? He hasn't stated what he has or what he wants to use the Emo gear for. See, it's these kind of statements, innocuous or not, that start down the road to arguments. You have NO...
Better designs which generally are more expensive are usually much more neutral. I can assure you Emo amps are NOT neutral in and of themselves.
No "maybe" about it. How do you know what the...
Phil, you're a trip, not less than one year ago you were making fun of tube gear adn those of us heavily into it. Now you can't live with out it.......ah well, we can all be wrong once in awhile....
I think they are perfectly adequate for HT use. Just don't fall for all the advertising hype. It's rather over the top and sensational. I just spent the past 3-4 days reading the Emo...
Congrats Steve, glad it worked out. That is drumminman's old one before he bought the 1000VA unit.
Enjoy

WOW, that's not at all what he stated. Not even close. He simply stated in response to Habenaro Monk's comment that differences can be heard with MIT cables vs. cheap cables (yes, mono price is...
Jesse, I'll participate in the cable demo. I could use some economically priced cables for the office rig. Currently using home brew Canare 4S11 and MIT T2's and basic USB. It would be nice to see...
Should have used a variac to slowly bring them up. Any older piece of electronics sitting unused for a longer period of time could have issues. Sounds like dried out caps, etc.
I already said I have zero regard for any audioholics or avs reviews.
The difference is I don't go around saying they changed the game or if u pay more you're a sucker or it's better than anything else for a lot less $$$$
Also Emotiva is far...far from the first company to do this. Far...far from it. Perhaps some should learn a little about audio history before singing the praises of Emotiva being the holy grail,...
Yep, hammer...nail...head.

Tony don't confuse them with logic.

I know Larry, just making the point to the peanut gallery because they don't need much to run with and completely take it out of the universe.
