I remember the slogan "The Only Band That Matters". It was as identifiable to the Clash as a slogan as "The Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band In the World" was to the Rolling Stones. Whenever someone...

My main point of interest is modern surf rock / spy / instro-mental music from around the world. It's an entire underground genre that has been pretty-strong since the mid 1990's surf revival. I buy...
These are definitely awesome surround speakers but for $200 they can also serve another very valuable purpose.
The drivers in the f/x1000 speakers are the same drivers used in the RT3000p...
Well I have both the towers up and running now and with repaired drivers I don't think they were exaggerating in the ads for the SRT.
"Matthew Polk's Vision: Performance Without Limits"
Here's one of the repaired drivers:
Is anyone else on here collecting the new Music Icons series Forever stamps?
They are probably the coolest stamps the USPS has ever put out. They come in sheets shaped like a 45RPM record sleeve....
The verdict is in.
I installed new caps in one amp and reassembled a speaker. I wanted to listen to it for a day or two and put it through the paces before jumping to any conclusions.
I heard back from Rubycon today and they don't think the caps are counterfeit. They say they are about 7 years old though and no longer offer that style capacitor in 10,000uF 80v so I really don't...
What about the SRT center speaker?
It's rated at 1,000 watts
No powered subs though
I'm going to have to compare the SRT to the CS1000p here when I get a chance.
Well I thought about what you said so I called Rubycon America in Chicago and they said that the capacitors are most-likely counterfeit. They told me to send them some pictures so I did. They said...
I don't think so. He had them for sale on here but that was a year ago.
This thread is a year old!
I got a call today from Kim Jasper at Polk and he said they repaired my drivers and they are as good as new!!
He said one of their guys did "one heck of a job" on them and I will...
The drivers are shipped and I'm waiting to hear back from Polk.
In the meantime, since I really don't have many other options, I've decided to replace the 4 big capacitors on each amp board to...
I got the drivers all packed-up and ready to ship out via Fed Ex ground. I put them in 4 individual boxes all packed nice and put the boxes inside a larger heavy-duty box filled with even more...
You will definitely have one heck of a system with separate amps. The SRTs are killer speakers that can supposedly handle all kinds of power. My only point was that mine don't sound bad at all with...
So far, my receiver seems to be plenty powerful for the SRT satellites. It's the powered subs that I am having problems with now but hopefully that will be eliminated in the near future after Polk...
I've been collecting ultra-duty boxes from work for free to ship these out in this weekend. The best ones I've found are the boxes we receive Baldor electric motors in.
And I have dealt with Polk...
I removed the drivers from the other cabinet and the spiders are loose in both of them too.
