A sound bar just might be what you want. I think you'll have a return window if it doesn't meet your expectations, then you'll be able to pursue option B.
Your room is not that much smaller than...
The series II has a matt finish on the faces. The gloss finish might look pretty cool.
A few good suggestions have been given here, rough up the surface a tad bit with fine grit sand paper after...
There's nothing wrong with leaving the grills off. It's designed to protect the drivers while letting sound come through. If your drivers are in no danger of being hit with anything, no worries.
I had Monitor 70's, equivalent to your TSi's, yes, a worthwhile jump.
You put RTiA6 in your paragraph but I'm sure you meant the CSiA6 as in your title.
I would stick with that center for your A9's. It can be set to small and sounds great.
Agreed
No body's twisting anything. Condescending comments like "aren't you special", and comments like "Allow me to help you enjoy your 2 channel to a degree you have yet to obtain, listen with your eyes...
Maybe so, but that's a very impressive rack....uh....gear rack, right?? Ok, how 'bout classic rack? Thanks Rick, for bringing a classic rack to an outdated thread
The A9's have a great midrange and while they might not be the best speaker on the block for 2ch listening, IMO do a tremendous job in 2ch mode.
I drove them with an XPA-3 and changed to an XPA-2...
The Hag? Yeah, that'll work. I didn't realize there were so many country bumpkins around here.
Obsession? Rabbit hole? And my personal fav....."hobby" No my friend, there is no end, and welcome to Hotel California.....you may check out but you can never leave.
Your plan for two subs instead...
Right, I also use a dual 50mm fan on top of my 807 that blows laterally, multi speed, looks like this; http://www.buyextras.com/evavcoblfanf.html
I have a second one I use on top of my X-Box 360,...
Heck yeah, I'm in the northwest, I'll just move up to Elbe, WA, theres a hydro-electric dam there. I am so in!!!
Probably not a bad idea. Do a search on clipping and that should give you a better idea on getting your system set up.
If you don't mind refurbs, this is a killer way to go, you save money, you upgrade to newer, you get pre-outs and warranty and you're golden;...
Peaveydude, welcome!
Falcon has pretty much summed most of it up! I agree with the surround set up, keep the FX's in surround as they provide more content than the rears. I also prefer mine in...
@ cheezy, I'm a professional motocycle road racer, it's not what you can do for me, but what I can do for your product.
Sponsor me for 20K and I'll advertise for you and your product. I'll...
The two single driver subs I had before my current ones were crap subs to begin with. My 807 set them up the best they could be but I was always cranking them up trying to get more out of them than...
Improvement in SQ.
Here's a link to a review on the RTiA7. http://hometheaterreview.com/polk-rti-a7-floorstanding-loudspeakers-reviewed/ Contrary to the comment about unfair comparison to the A9,...
I guess you didn't read my post. I'll give it you like this; the M70 is rated 275 @ max power. Give it 300wpc and you'll get in your face bass with movies and music.
It's just not cost effective...
+1 found this to be true with my A9's, much improved bass with my amp.
I've used a 7.1 from the beginning trying rears, heights and wides. My AVR does a tremendous job at matrixing the wide channel. Plus, I use an extra set of towers in the wide spot and my front stage...
Sounds like you have them in the right places. I've used both M40's and M30's in surround and preferred the M40's.
I'd just add a second pair of M30's for heights then and call it a day.
Very nice!! Welcome to club Polk!
Grab another pair of M70's for wides. You won't be disappointed.
