Everything I have read or heard is that it's horrible without a touchscreen but pretty awesome with one. Just get her a copy of windows 7 if it's not touch. I am very happy with 7 personally.

I installed the slim version of those in a 2006 sonata with the stock head unit and it was a HUGE improvement over the stock speakers and sounded pretty darn good. So I would say go for it!

All I can say is with that budget do NOT buy a polk sub. They make great speakers, but the subs still just can't compete with the ID boys as far as bang for the buck goes.
