Thanks halo for the info..i lost the manual a LONG time ago..LOL But i was pretty sure it was a common ground amp. Now when i say 'hot"..it's not like frying eggs or anything. It's a big amp, has...
F1..this amp was billed as a dual mono block..altho in 1 cab..I do believe it's really a dual mono block from what i can see. BUT..if this was NOT a common ground amp..the 1C's would have been...
Tell you what..if you wait a year....I'll buy them and pay the shipping, depending on if the price is right...LMAO
Yeah, i'm not sure what the deal was with Onkyo back then, none of them were cheap..and the power ratings were not that far apart. This was all back in the 1990's...LOL The only reason i managed to...
The problem with the Onkyo Intagra line. They only made these amps for a few years, why i don't know. They were highly acclaimed by the mags at the time. I've seen spec's on this amp that range from...
Face, i'm not sure were you got that from. It's the Onkyo Integra M-504. There is little or no info on these amps anymore. I lost the manual..a long time ago. But these were top of the line stuff and...
There is some method to my madness on this. I do have some equipment that i could sell off. I hate to sell stuff, as in the back of my mind is always..gee i may use that again sometime...LOL
But...
Thanks Tony, but i live in GA...that would be a long hike..LOL The Legacy Focus is one of the few speakers that come to mind, to compete with the 1.2's But to find a set used in the 3K range may...
Well with the 1C's your dealing with 4 tweeters so thats 200 bucks, for VR3 to mod both cross overs (depending on what he's doing to them) your pretty close to 500, then Larrys rings and such, so 1K...
I know it is the cross-over shutting down the tweeters. My left speaker used to do that. Back in the day when Polk made, and you could buy the cross-over for the 1C's. Thats what i did and just...
Unfortunately..I'm trying to reproduce my fathers set up from the 1970's. Which to be blunt..i'm not sure is doable, with out massive money, for a 2 channel rig,
The speakers were custom made...
Ok..i'm 60+ and in 2 years i should have enough money to buy my last and best speakers. Now i have my original 1C SDA's, plus a set of RTi12's. Now the 12's are nice..but will be put up for HT stuff....
OK..having said that, i think there are a lot of issues involved here. Just to throw them altogether, you need, a good , warm high current power amp with 200 watts, tube's some place in the mix..I...
OK..good info mr bubbles. But i do have to ask...are both the 1C's and the 2B's unmodified????
At least give them the same playing field...LOL
Now i will be the first one to tell you..1C's...
Will unmodified 2B's sound better then unmodified 1C's in a large room..or my 17X30 foot room?
Now i hate to jump on the boat of..bigger speakers, bigger room= winners.
But in this case...since...
Just a note on the room size VS what the 1C's can do. Now again, i had not heard the 1C's for 2 years, when i put them in that bedroom. Now if you played them really low...they were maybe passable....
Interesting stuff guys. My 1C's had not been used for 2 years, as i was stuck in a small senior rental place while i looked for the right house. When i finally moved, the only room i could put the...
I have to go alone with H9, that the room size and amps used of course has alot to do with if you like the 2B's over the 1C's. I've had these speakers for a long time..and pushed them with the same...
I have no good answer at all, why 2B's should sound better then 1C's..according to Polk..the 1 C's should have been the end all be all of that size speaker....meaning the 1B, 2B whatever.
It's as...
Strange..i would expect the 1C's to be better..all around...but who knows. Plus the 2B's to hit you with more bass...seems very strange..but again who knows.
But the problem is i don't have a set...
OK..I don't have the yamaha pre..I have an Adcom which dose not have the 2 pre outs.... but since you people think the sub buys you alot..I will leave it at that and call it a day. No reason to...
I have SDA 1C's....I also have an Adcom 400 pre...now "stereophile" mag seems to think the Adcom 565 has the best Phono section, but they also like my 400. The problem is you have to buy this stuff...
yeah, the Adcom 565 has a really good TT setup, along with the fact it's just a good pre amp.
But...i'm not sure you can get one in good shape for 200 bucks. Used in good shape is more to 300-350...
Let me put it this way, since you seem to be the end all know about subs and 2 channel systems.....
How do you control the output of the SDA's VS the output of the sub..and i'm sure it had better be...
OK..hold the phone on this...first off i said i turned up the bass on the pre for yucks..and yes of course you get some more bass..did not say i do that as normal..nore did i say it's better then a...
