How did this photo of my prepper shelter get online?
I've owned the 1.2s since 1988. They are my best and last speaker until I have to downsize at the nurning home.
Remember the overhead night vision IR shots of the Boston marathon bomber hiding in the boat? We adopted his cat.

Tony, Steve, Jake,
Thanks for the kind words. I really got lucky finding a 41 year old car in such pristine, original condition. She had two previous owners, older gentlemen, a USAF colonel and...
I love the look of the old, small displacement, British stuff even though it doesn't have the power.
Same here :)

She was hired but she got kicked off the show for the pic I posted. Now she works at the store, off camera. I removed the pic because it was way too much and apologize if anyone was offended.

Those babies should really open up and sing after 200 hours of burn-in http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/037/icon_cool.gif
Best speakers I have ever heard when powered right. Nice recent acquisition BTW.
TennMan,
Your inbox is full. Sent you a PM..
Glad you were able to get them before I decided I couldn't pass them up.http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/037/icon_mrgreen.gif
Now you owe me a listen.
He might mean Silver Coil Dome as in SL-2000 tweeters that come on the original SRS and the SRS1.2's. These speakers are indeed closer to 4 Ohm than 8 Ohm.
Yes, Welcome. Post a photo and we can...
SL-2000?
Those are SL-1000's.
Look closer. 3 of them are SL-1000's. The right speaker, left tweet has an SL-2000.
I could have offered the estate sale buyer $150 for the 1B's but I didn't...
OK, I will let you know. In the interem, you can pick these SDA1's up just down the road for only $650. Note the odd SL-2000

The guy hacked me off and I really didn't need them. At $100, it felt like a win. For $150, sloppy seconds http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/images/smilies/037/icon_mrgreen.gif

Missed them by 10 minutes. They were at an estate sale. I got there 1/2 hour early and got number 95. The pro's were there 3...
Thanks everyone. I'm heading over in the morning to get them if they are cheap enough and in decent condition. Found this cool link for Polk vintage speaker ID's.

Sorry no other pics provided. If they work and I can get them for under $100, whatever they are, is it worth it?

I know nothing more....What are they worth.
Thanks in advance.
Congrats. That's a good price for 10's with the stands. I paid $75 for my 10A's with the Peerless tweets, great shape, without stands. I use them with a sub crossed at 30 Hz. Great for dance and...
IMO, bi-amping gets you little to nothing. No advantage and it makes things more complex with gain matching etc.
Been there with dual Carver amps.
In 1989 I paid $199 for a new black pair. I used them for the rear channels with my 1.2s.
As well as these speakers hold up, I'm surprised they don't go for $3K now like they did 20+ years ago. Inflation adjusted, they would be $6K. My 1.2s look exactly as they did in '88 and nothing...
