I was able to get almost all of the stuff off with several pencil erasers and razor (scraped with razor perpendicular to surface). Thanks for not lighting me up too badly for this dumb mistake.
Thanks for the response.
I have heard good things about Armaflex. However, has anyone else tried to remove the tape? I installed some Armaflex TAP18230 insulation tape for my tweeters on my 1.2TL's. When installing Larry...
Where did you apply the Dynamat and No Rez? I presume the Armaflex was used for gasketing?
I will give a more detailed review after a week or two of "burn-in". However, initially I am very pleased. I spun my reference vinyl (Miles Davis - Kind of Blue) and immediately noticed new highs...
I thought the 1C's all had the wood end caps. Maybe these are a budget version?
Looking at your list of planned upgrades, have you upgraded the cross-connect cable? It seems like this would get you more improvement than the mods listed (except for the rings which I have not yet...

Welcome! I am the original owner of 1A's and have since acquired 1.2TL's and 2A's. I did the tweeter and crossover upgrade on the 2A's and was very, very pleased with the result. I also upgraded...
Count me in for 16.
I am also considering replacing the grill cloth. I'm am not the diffraction guru here, but I wonder if it wouldn't be smart to round-over the frame inner-outside edges of the grill before attaching...
Drooling like Pavlov's dog!
I called Polk and they confirmed that "shipping weight" includes all packaging.
For what it may be worth, I weighed one of the 1.2TL's and it weighed 155 lbs versus 185 lb "shipping weight"...
Can anyone save me the trouble of getting the 1.2TL's on the bathroom scale? The manual identifies "shipping weight" as 180 lbs. Does that include the original carton? I remember the carton was...
I bought some inexpensive Parts Express spikes and cross-tapped the existing threads to 1/4-20. I then inserted 1/4-20 rod with 2 parts epoxy. They are solid. The problem was that no matter how I...

I've had the 1.2 TL's for about 10 years but am the original owner of SDA 1A's and 2'A's. I did the crossover upgrade on the 2A's and was quite pleased with the results. Reagan
...in the results of this mod! (Especially since I own the pair to be modded)

Please help with a recommended procedure for isolating the source of distortion.
Background: I recently cleaned my preamp volume pot. When I reinstalled the preamp, I inadvertently turned the...
A $grand seems a bit hefty. They are in Woodstock, GA.
Wow! The 1C's are that much better? Now you have planted the seed...there may be no turning back. I will keep my eye out for the 1C's. I really probably should focus my attention on the monoliths...
The myesound spikes look impressive. I used TTSoundPoints for my turntable, but they would be too costly to use on the 2A's.
I am the original owner of the 1A's. When I purchased them, (obviously) the 1C's were not in production. Unfortunately, my wife loves to use my 1A's in her "ambience" setup to provide backgound...
