I have a pair of 60's, and use a Parasound HCA 500 ...The sound is so good, I can't see how it can improve

I got the amp on ebay for $80 and had it rebuilt for $300 ... still going strong... it is...

I have been enjoying a rebuilt Parasound 500A for sometime now, and plan to play that one into the ground..I am really enjoying the amp, and it simply doesn't owe me a thing !

FWIW, the logitech media server is DLNA compliant -- I can listen to the music via Sony TV downstairs..(the duet is upstairs)..the files are on a garden-variety laptop..

I have a 3480, and use it as a pre-amd for a parasound power amp, driving monitor 70's..looks like we have some items in common :cheesygrin:

The 70's are so easy to drive , I just love them, and...

I use MM, and I auto-tag from filename...I find it very convenient for bulk-tagging

I removed the relay, used a matchbook cover to slowly clean the contacts..I may have used a bit of de-oxit. The right channel seemed to come back, and wouldn't suddenly drop out at...

The unit was serviced about 5 years ago, and he put 1 amp speaker fuses in...would these protect against the DC surge/pops etc if they were very strong ?

I did the same thing, and am delighted with the 595 SACD..I think I paid under $100 on ebay and am delighted...I don't use the mulit-disc feature much, but the sound is alot better than what I had...

I have tried cleaning the speaker relay on my aging (20 years + ) Parasound amp, and it works for a bit, then the right channel gets weak,... so I removed the relay and did a bypass..

I have the 60's which I bought from Polk Direct .. very satisfied (esp since earlier pair were PSB Alphas) .. I think you get alot of bang for the buck with the monitors...I use the 40's for my TV...
