It sounds great. I mean, really lovely, no matter what I play. Not sure if the LSi9s could sound any better.

Went from an Adcom GFA-545 to the DNA-1, and learned what these speakers are...
I thought about that, may give it a try. Thanks for tip.
Please excuse double post...Unfortunately, I don't have a plasma TV...just an "old" Sony CRT w/out removable cord, and a Samsung LED monitor for the computer. I assume the computer itself will burn...
Thanks very much for reply...You know, normally, I actually like hearing the burn-in. It's cool to audibly hear equipment going from ok to great. Unfortunately, in this case, I just don't have the...
Just got my McCormack DNA-1 back, with Silver upgrade and some other stuff. Bought a Shunyata Venom 3 (with extension cord) as a homecoming gift, to show it how much I love it.
Sounded...
Can't go wrong with tubes!
Gotta say, I thought that something like 77 could never sound fresh to me again, heard it so often and knew it so well...then a friend bought the remastered 77 a few years ago and played it through...
..new or used, to go with the equipment in my sig. Looks don't really matter, just performance. I want good/great reception for local news and sports broadcasts (some of which are now available on...
I'm pretty sure you can get an Adcom GFP-565 and a Parasound HCA-1000 for $500 ($300 + $200, respectively). You will be quite struck by the improvement in sound quality. Some other folks might have...
You know, now that you mention high current...
Parasound has a bit better sound quality than Adcom, I think...I'm just used to recommending Adcom as entry level, because they're cheap and...
Oh jeez, do I need a picture? Marantz CD6004:

Certainly not vintage...but it sounds great, and it has a USB input in front which lets me use my 160GB/80GB ipods to listen to Apple...
Putting a pre-amp behind your amp is pretty standard these days. As zingo pointed out, your amplifier would be considered an integrated amp today, because it has volume controls and such. Some...

My Bloody Valentive - m b v
Kyle Bobby Dunn - Bring Me The Head of Kyle Bobby Dunn
Ricardo Villalobos - Fabric 36
Yes - Fragile (remastered)
And some other stuff.
1. Leaving my Parasound on doesn't appear to have any effect, positive or negative, on performance, so I turn it off. Seems like a good idea in terms of safety etc.; I haven't really thought about...

The force is strong with this one.
Oscilloscope? Oh my brother...
My son, you must try a McCormack. it is your destiny.
(The older-model DNAs, mentioned above, are both affordable and magical.)
I love my Parasound HCA-1500 so much that I'm inclined to suggest the HCA-1000. Intended for home theater as well as music. Pretty sure you can find them for $250-300 on ebay and elsewhere.
Great list, thanks. Gotta bookmark this.
I only started using the 'Gon after the upgrade; got my Adcom there, kind of a special deal. Got my McCormack DNA-1 (in shop for upgrades) from Audio...
I am particularly struck by how good the piano sounds on Steely Dan's "Sign In Stranger", following the addition of the Adcom GFP-750. Their recordings always excel, of course, but that...
I took a look at the Oppo 83SE manual, and it looks like you can listen to audio files through the USB input. The manual doesn't specify which types of files it'll play, so you may have to...
Well, I just replaced my old GFP-565 with a blue-board GFP-750, and I would say the difference is quite noticeable. Not necessarily "blown away", but...bigger soundstage, more depth, more...
The Adcom GFA-555 will probably have the power to run those speakers. For that money, though, you could get a used amp that has as much power, but somewhat better sound quality...like the Parasound...
It's gonna get wet/moist/humid in there. Maybe even a bit mildewy. At least take a look at some outdoor "all weather" speakers.
Oh yes, my friend...I know...
