I have found the sda effect much better the further apart. Had mine about 5 feet then moved a few things around to get about 8 feet. I think they sound much better. Also about 12 inches from wall

I believe that particular Carver amp is common ground, but you should check because many carvers are not. It is not a good amp for running less than 8 ohms though, and the SDA 2b's run less than 8...
