Subs are supposed to be able to handle extra power. I followed that divide the RMS by .75. I have my gains down and my volume is at 10-15 out of 40. I'm not doing this on purpose.

I know I'm overpowering them. I've hooked up a JL 500/1 to a MM2124. They are fine up till I play one song . This is why I think they don't handle overpowering very well.
I've had the pleasure three times. I'll probably try another set of Polks but if they go again I'll switch to a different brand.
So your saying the 2004 or 2005 have problem solved? Cause I've been thourgh 3 MM2124 over the past year. room temp?
Yeah I've been through a few MM2124 I'm glad I bought the warranty that way I don't have to complain at the store I can just slap them with a reciept and be like get me another biatch. Does anyone...
exalted512 I'm interested in the Grilles if they're 12 in maybe the subs also. I actually have two MM2124 but I blew them but I have the CC warranty so I can get new ones or the new line of MOMOs...
Darn I wanted a pair of MOMOs what kind of Kickers did CC get? well I'll find out in about a week or two what they have. That is when CC gets them in right?
Ok well I know I'm giving it too much power. I have blown 3 of these MM2124 with the song Nod Your Head by will smith with my volume at 10 I have a pioneer DEH-P8600MP. I have the circuit city...
I'm not sure but aren't Corvettes made completly out of carbon fiber or fiberglass?
I read that MOMO grilles tend to get in the way of the surround is that true? Is there any loss of SQ or SPL when the MOMO grilles are added? I have two MM2124 in a sealed box.
That looks freaking awesome. How are the 6.5 coaxials? I've been thinking about getting a pair.
That AVC-N1 is one of the best in dash out there. Its got tons of features. If you don't mind the price tag then get it.

I woulda gone with the 8600MP if it was $350 new that would have been a good price. The one you bought is nice though the giant volume knob contorls everything.
my friend has had that one for over a year and it works fine he powers some JL 10w0 with it. They sound great.
I got CC to replace both my subs so I can start over fresh and not mess up this time. I'm getting a new HU too Pioneer 8600MP. Will have pics up later. Since I don't want to screw this up again how...
I'd go with a W6. Port it and it'll sound great.
Is Jensen a good brand I thought their headunits were cheap and didn't have a lot of features?
It's so small I can't even find it.
just wanted some input from some car audio people
I'm thinking about getting a DVD player in my car but I have a few questions first. If I buy a Alpine CVA-1005 can I combine it with the Pioneer DVH-P5000MP? The CVA-1005 is just a monitor with no...
u have DVC for MOMO?
yes sorry circuit city only carries SVC. I think when tweeter picked them up they demanded it be DVC so they sell those now. Not sure if thats true though.
At 2 ohms that will be too much. You will need to have your gain down. At 4 ohms how much will that be RMS ?
That pioneer is a nice HU and if you're going to buy a $500 HU and nothing else whats the point other than cool screensavers buy the HU might as well get a system with it.
