Thanks for the insight and sorry it took so long to get back. I've replaced the HU with an Alpine CDEHD138BT. I also tried fitting the tiny 45X4 mini amp, but as small as it is, I just couldn't mount...
I recently bought a 2012 Scion xB with the entry grade Pioneer HU. I've Dynamatted the four doors and the rear hatch and replaced the stock speakers with Polk db 651's in four spots. I also kept the...
I sold a 2220 a couple years ago in the market. A very fine 2 channel amp. I still have 7250 in my HT going on 18 years without a hiccup.
If your into it, McIntosh and B&K have a very similar...
Try some plain old hockey pucks under the speaks. They work as well as a high dollar iso piece. I have them under my Spires and barely hear it when I'm in the basement.

I'll ask you this simple question. Is there something wrong with what you are hearing now? If so, what is it?

Guily as charged your honor:razz:

Perhaps someday I'll tell the story of me as a young sailor in Thailand. Then again, maybe I won't!

Hmmmmm, thought I might chime in on this thread. If you read my sig, you'll see I'm a Mc diehard. Not a fanboy by any means, I just prefer the sound of the total package. Are they the best? To my...
P2, clear your inbox. Tried sending you a PM and your full.

Do you have them spiked? It won't tear up the carpets. Have you tried ensuring the panels are perfectly vertical with no tilt in any direction? Try placing some weights on the cabinets to tighten the...
Glad to see you didn't give up on them too soon. They can be a challenge to set up. If your interested, there are a few tips I can share with you and others to coax a bit more out of them.

+1 to what Cathy said above. It takes discipline to wait just abit and buy something you want and can grow with. Send it back and save some coin for the next couple months. Then you can have the time...
Phil, look forward to your opinions. I enjoyed the MS Double Helix. I almost regret giving them up. They were a VERY close 2nd to the WW's I'm using now for a fraction of the cost.
I wish I could...
I'd at least go 90 degrees and put the TV in the 14.3 wall. Leaves a bit more room for more seating.

PFB, you're not making sense. That piece sold for what, 500-600 dollars? Spend the money on shipping to get it fixed then sell it. Or sell it with the buyer being aware of the broken post. I'm sure...
My speakers are in the same family as yours and I'd be very leery of silver cables. I did a short review of silver wires with the ML line...
My lineup consists of Mythos Two for mains, a Three for center, Gem XL surrounds and a Prosub 1000. All the speakers are mounted on the walls due to space constraints in our HT.
They are an ideal...
Honestly, I have no idea. I use them in my 2 channel rig only. My HT has the Mythos lineup and don't really listen to music there so can't comment on their musicality.

I'm a little late, but since you have not purchased anything yet, here is my 2 cents on the Vantage. I bought a pair new and was my first ML purchase. Set them up like a box speaker and was...
I'd say keep them and upgrade the front end. But, if you want to part with them, I live in MD and would gladly take them off your hands:biggrin:

Honestly, money had/has nothing to do with it when you talking McIntosh level gear. One can find audio bliss for much less, I'll agree with you there. However, IF one is done rolling pieces in and...
If your into "real" jazz and not contemporary, elevator jazz, I'd suggest looking into the XRCD collection Elusive Disc is offering. It is a collection of jazz fromt the 50's and 60's. It quite...
Don't get me wrong, I thought this rig in HT was FABULOUS!! McIntosh speakers have never floated my boat in a 2 channel rig. I think they make a good amp and pre depending on what one pair's them...
My favorite CD is "Dukes Big 4" by the one and only Duke Ellington on XRCD. Perfectly recorded and the tempo and style is sublime. What a wonderful piece of music!!

I've listened to this identical system in a prepared room and had mixed feelings. I'm a Mc fan no doubt, (not fan-boy level) but it only shined in an HT setup. The 2 channel frankly was too metallic...
