Yea. That seems like the best deal. Especially considering you get both the platter, and cartridge upgrade. Heck, I recently payed $125 for just an acrylic platter for my mmf-2.1.
This looks pretty interesting. Actually considering taking the risk. Not sure where I would even use the table, but I'm sure I could come up with something.
What your meter is telling you is just DC resistance, and therefore won't match the impedance rating of the speaker. So don't let those values bother you. Impedance is a measurement of resistance to...
OK. So apparently this forum (unlike every other forum) doesn't highlight links in blue. So here is the link again.
"Go get THESE!!!
Go get these!!!
First serious pair of speakers I owned. Still have them, and still love throwing them into my system from time to time. The low-end on these is insane!
Agreed. Cerwin Vegas are fine if you're looking for a party speaker that can take a bunch of abuse. They're honestly damn near a PA speaker with wood veneer.
What I find most frustrating about...
Look what else get's glowing reviews from the people that own them.
Bose Wave Radio
Sorry, but consumer reviews are pretty much worthless.
For point-and-shoot cameras, for an average user, look no further than Canon.
This thread is depressing.
I'm curious if anyone here either has, or has heard, a table/arm/cartridge combo that cleanly tracks track 9 (300Hz +18db tone) on the first side of the Hi-Fi News Analogue Test LP.
My MMF-7 w/...
Vienna Acoustics perhaps?
Thanks.
Actually the 2x4 and 1x5 units use 8 pegs in each shelf. Unlike the 4x4 and 5x5 units that use 4 in vertical sections and 8 in the horizontal sections. Plus the thick outer walls on this...
FWIW. I used to sell new HK stuff around that time-frame. Even the new stuff had issues. It sounded great while it was working, but it was keeping it working that was the problem. I personally have a...
I too just went to using Ikea Expedit units. Just couldn't ignore the convenience/cost ratio. I would agree that just a little reinforcement of the corners and/or wall tethering is probably a good...
For what it's worth. With the Sport Pilot certificate they don't require a medical. You're just limited to light-sport classified aircraft, daylight, and no passengers. Plus the required hours are...
Just stumbled across this while searching for something completely unrelated, and couldn't resist asking how the training is going. I just got my ticket this past April, and have been loving it. My...
Glad I didn't jump on this set when I heard about it. Seems everyone who actually knows what to listen for is quite disappointed. What a total waste. Seems they really had a chance to do something...
Probably not a bad move. From my (now somewhat dated) experience with the HK receivers, they usually sounded really good, but were more likely to have issues. I especially thought they mated well...
Eh. You might be surprised. 50 HK watts go quite a bit further than 50 watts from most other receiver manufacturers.
I would recommend the Polks across the front and the B&Ws for surrounds. IMO the Rti4s sound great in a small 2ch setup, and should actually pair quite nicely with that HK receiver.
Same cartridge that you have. For whatever reason the one on his table has always just seemed a little soft sounding.
Bummer. Not often you hear of a wife complaining about a guy getting rid...
Yea Yea. I know. Trying to figure out what to do about that. Can't bring myself to shorten that pricey of a cable. May just have to buy new, or work a trade for something.
Great news! I sat for a few hours last night, playing album after album, assuming the lack of low-end and blurred imaging was just due to them being under-powered. Was about to pull the last album...
Great price for a really respectable table. I personally have an MMF-2.1, and an MMF-7, and have also set my dad up with the MMF-5.1. All 3 are great tables at their respective price points. The only...
