well i put the crossover at -3 and now it never lights up! i think everything shoudl be good! thanks guys for all your help!

the bulbs do alluminate....once ina while...should i set the gain on the amp so they do not illuminate at all??? could that be the issue here? kinda weird to me though that 80 watts kills speakers...

well the mid woofer is about 12 inches from the woofer..so they are not that far apart...the amp is only pushin 80 watts per channel...so its not like im pushing them hard....the gains are only half...

yes i had them professionally installed by tweeter about 6 months ago

ive had them looked at by another shop recently since tweeter is now out of the biz

i will turn the tweeters down and see...

im running them off two channels of the 300/4..

everything has been triple checked everything is hooked up right...i did notice that the tweeter setting on the crossover is set to 1db is that...

i have them set at half gain with the crossover around 85

i read that you should run them out of phase? does that mean negative goes to positive and vice versa on the crossover?

my sr6500's sound worse than my DB 6.5 coaixals...whats up? what am i missing...i bought into all the hype wiht these speakers...

im had 2 tweeters...

dont do it! that amp blows big time! I went thru 3 of them before finally just going with a JL SLASH series 4 channel

i just put my sr124 sub in a ported box and it sounds way better than sealed. I guess it all depends on the car. Funny how everyones opinions of bass sounding good differs

well after 3 alpine amps, tons of checking speakers, wire, changin headunits...i installed another brand amp....the JL Slash 300/4

no issues at all!!! Screw Alpine amps and the PDX! Never again! ...

damn i knew it was the amp!!! I just bought the JL slash 300/4 4 channel ..its comin on Monday. The hell with PDX! ill post my findings once the new amp is in. thank you so much for your post!

well i replaced the speaker wire, and changed the rcas, and replaced the headunit...same noise....the amps been changed 4 times...should i try a different amp? all ive done is change from pdx to...

yea i thought of that..but wouldnt it make the noise all the time if it were that? not jsut the first 1-3 mins the car starts up?

everything is grounded to the chassis...still have the same exact noise

anyone?
