Do the settings get wiped because your head unit gets reset? If that is the only issue then you can just rig an adapter that plugs into an outlet in the car (cig lighter outlet) to a 9 volt battery...
I would like to add my own opinion as I own the SR5250 set.
You do not have to make the door 100% airtight to experience good sound and impact from the woofer. However, you won't get very good...
A round speaker is more accurate compared to an oval, but the oval is typically louder as it has more cone area.
Infinity reference is what I call neutral sounding, not warm nor bright, Infinity...
I realize this is old, and I rarely bring up old posts, but this is just terrible help for a user from this forum. Chu, you at least pointed him in a helpful direction. I hope the original author...
The Alpine amp does not have the proper cross-over network as we have been discussing in this thread. We were not just tossing out amplifier suggestions...
I would suggest that you post a new thread for that system when the time arrives. First, because it allows other beginners to read and learn. Second, and equally important, is that there are others...
Good luck to you. When you're ready with the new car to put in a system worthy to your ears, let us know!
No one can tell you whether this is a good position or not unless they have the EXACT same vehicle as you. This would get them in the same ballpark as you, MAYBE. Then there is the little issue...
How about using some baffles with the speakers to help with dirt/water/etc and also to help with bass since you're currently running free-air?
Example: ...
Alright that's it, you have us help you through an entire car and now you're not even going to have the car anymore. NO MORE HELP FOR YOU!!! :D
Yes it is possible, and would be the most...
If the 5 1/4" speakers will fit, DO IT. You have a lot of mid-bass and clarity to gain and nothing I can think of to lose. Make sure you seal up the door well and triple check that you seal the...
To answer your original question, no it won't effect how much power your speakers receive.
However, the advice given by DSkip is right on and would sound better than what you intend to do.
"Dirty power" doesn't blow speakers. The cleanest signal still has some amount of noise, that's just how electricity is. Clipping, over-driving past the mechanical limit, and over-heating the voice...
I've always had detailed hearing (for lack of a better description) in my opinion. For example, my wife cannot tell the difference between a 128 kbit/s MP3 and an an original uncompressed CD. I...
Most coaxial speakers can not compete with a component setup. Much better filter performance (crossover), better mid-bass, and usually a better tweeter. Components can typically handle more power. ...
I would suggest either a larger battery or a secondary battery BEFORE you replace an alternator. That just makes good electrical sense to me. Want a kick ass battery designed for car audio? ...
I hope that bass blocker cuts 24db per octave or I bet it sounds terrible.
Sounds like you read it all and understand it. :) Good job! Personally I think that 4 gauge power/ground will be fine, as long as your Big3 are upgraded. I would do those first, then do your...
I doubt the person from Napa gave you solid advice, more like trying to sell you a product, which is his or her job. ;) I've met a lot of people from places like that, most of them could barely...
4 gauge from the battery to the trunk to run the amp you have now AND the amp you are thinking about getting will do just fine. Make sure that your ground wire for the amp is also 4 gauge and short....
Thanks Mac. With all of the issues that I am having with the front stage in this car, I am changing the position of the tweeters and am thinking about going active. A processor will come later on. ...
It's possible that you could fit a 6 1/2" component set in the front doors, but you would have to do measurements to see if the depth is ok and diameter would be ok. I don't doubt that a 5 1/4 set...
In pursuit of the best sound quality I can obtain in my car, with a limited budget, I've been doing a lot of reading online. I just read an article that spoke of the resonant frequency of a speaker....
Your head-unit does not have a high-pass filter in the 3-6 khz you would need to effectively run your components in an active manner. Inversely, the low-pass filter would need to be in the same...
