W4 calculator works good... http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96196,00.html
I just started running my M70's at full range with the 505 set at 90Hz, and I love how it sounds. Since my sub is in a rear corner the addition of the bass from the M70's really fills out the sound...
Yeah I probably look at the sub again... I was messing around with my fronts today. I've changed the M70's to full range and boy does it make a difference!
Do the receiver calibration.
My driver is pointing at the wall with the port facing the listing position (see my post above). I'm also 180 deg out of phase.
No muddiness here!
I have my 505 sitting in a corner by my couch. The driver points to the wall with the window and the port is facing the couch. My volume is set (on the sub) to 1:00 o'clock...
Well if it helps my 608 powers the M70's and CS2 just fine... I say get the 708 and put the money toward something else.
nope mine smells fine... sounds good too
I have RC60i's for rears mounted in a 9' ceiling... they sound great!
I'm going to have to give that a try.
No it switches to "full band"... is that considered "large"?
There is no small/large setting on the 608.
So does the Sony have a volume range from 1-100?
Well you do get 1-100 for volume.
On average I see...
tv (5.1): 30-50
music (2.1): 40-50
movies (5.1): 50-65
Okay from the remote in the receiver mode:
setup>1>1>
normal (no I'm not running bi-amp)
setup>1>2>
sub: yes
front/center/surround: 80Hz
LFE: 90hz
I had to do more tuning after running Audessy. I'll post my settings later tonight. We're currently watching tv with the sound at 30...
another one for the PSW505
Agreed!
My M70 + 608 sound good in 2.0 mode but the bass is nothing spectacular.
In 2.1 mode the M70's get louder and sound much better since it's not having to worry about the stuff below 80hz.
CS2 is the proper match for the M70... http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/monitor70/
x2
That depends on your room... Just try it out and choose the one that sounds better.
Amazon does have some "like new" Pioneer VSX-1120-K's for $450 (or new for $547). If I was to do it over again I would have gone that route over the 608.
Your on the right track. Either receiver would be good. Personally I'd bump up to the PSW505 sub and go with the larger CS2 center speaker. If your on a budget then I would look at doing a quality...
Run your wire, add insulation and call it a day.
My sub is at 90 Hz, and the rest at 80 Hz
I did just that tonight with no difference in sound...
Thats a difficult question just by looking a power ratings. Feature wise the 608 would be worth the upgrade.
