I must like them, I keep picking them up. Three pairs of 5's two 7's and three 10's. The one's with peerless tweeters are much more enjoyable.
I've had pretty good luck buying drivers off ebay, as long as the seller packs them well.
A great speaker, I still have mine after 25 years.
peace and quiet, not really
I made mine with two 15" momo's powered by a carver pm900 bridged and it will shake the house.
I rarely go and do not seem to find anything, but would love to someday.

how could you go wrong
I pre-wired my home when building it. It saved a lot of time and expense by not having to hide wires later. Run as heavy of gauge as possible now and save regrets later.

I don't know about the 2400 but most carver amps are common ground. Dosn't the 2400 run two power cords and supplies, then it may not be.
