Excellent points!!!
I have Dish Network which has 3 different Music providers one of which is Sirius. When compared to the quality(?) of my XM Ready receiver - other than eq - I can't tell a difference. They're all...
Headphone out...
It looks as though that is your only option unless you want to use your headphone jack as a preamp out.
Connect your speakers to the direct out terminals. Buy a 1/4 inch stereo plug to stereo...
Will they go low enough to make the brown noise? That's what I want to know...
I know my system is mid-fi at best but I'll take my current Parasound pre/power combo over any of the JVC, Pioneer or Denon receivers I've owned in the past. :D
Thanks for the replies.
They are S4 speakers.
According to the online schematic - Polk denotes the black wire to the mid-range driver as positive. The schematic doesn't have anything in it's...
When replacing a driver - which wire connects to the terminal with the red dot?
I don't know that I'd consider any of your ideas solutions. None of them address the real issue which is your speakers are drawing more current than the receiver can supply. The only real solution...
bwahahahahahahahaha...
Either would be a fine amp for your purpose. I've used Crown more than any other brand but that was merely because a good friend carries them at his shop. Crest and QSC build an excellent product...

I have over $300.00 invested in music from HDGiants. Now that they've gone out of business. I can't download any of the licenses I need to play or burn the files. DRM sucks!!!
I'm a big fan of Parasound amps. Neither of mine strike me as a bright amp although the clarity is there. As far as bass response - I've done away with the subwoofer but I also upgraded my...
Sounds like EMI to me. I experienced a similar issue with one of my Parasounds. Bought some better shielded interconnects and the problem went away.
I'll be matching it to the Parasound HCA-800 (bedroom system) at first. I may move it to the den to control the main 2-channel system after I check everything out.
I just won an Adcom GTP-350 pre-amp on ebay. This is my first preamp as well as my first Adcom product. I can't wait to hear it! WOOHOO!
I had a pair of AT-12s bought in the late '80s. Kept them until about 3 years ago when I replaced them with a pair of Monitor 70s. Even though the 70s are considered entry level speakers - I had no...
I used a pair to bump my Paramax Surround Sound system up from a 5.1 to a 7.1.
They rock! :p
I could turn my PSW10 up loud enough to cause it to make port noise but then it would over-power my speakers. I've read about the noise complaints but have never experienced it with my sub. I can't...
Sold!!!
I just put a pair of Monitor 70s and a PSW10 on Craigslist (Lexington) for $300.00. Because of the size and weight involved these will have to be local pick-up only. I wanted to list them here in...
I went ahead and picked up the Martin Logans. Nice speakers. Definitely a step up from the Monitor 70s.
The manual recommends 72-100 hours of break-in and they only have about 5 hours on them. ...
I can get a pair for $600.00. Does anyone have any experience with these speakers? How would they compare to RTi A7s for example?
